Avistar for G2 question

Ok I found the avistar dowload for realflight G2 but when I load the plane it tells me the wing is not valid.

which add-on do I need to get to have the appropriate wing for my avistar?

also is there a way to use flaperons on G2 with a PT-40 based custom avistar?

how about dual rates?

I have both with my real avistar and wanted to make G2 as realistic as possible.

BTW after 2 days I can take of and land and do alot of basic arobatics with a problem. Hopefully when I finnaly take my real avistar out it will be jsut as easy to learn.

RE: Avistar for G2 question

Add-on 1 has the airfoil you need to get the Avistar to load. I ran across the same thing a few months ago. Don't know about your other questions.

Flight characteristics of the sim was pretty close to my Avistar. The only differences I noticed was itt seemed to have a little more power in the SIM and did not slow down as quickly in the SIM. It was very helpful for me.

Hi, i can use Dual Rates with G2, you can specify a key for it in the calibration of the interface...
Otherwise Flaperons, spoilers, etc, i tryed, but i really dont know if G2 supports it

Sorry about my english

RE: Avistar for G2 question

Hi Guys,

I'm the one who posted the Avistar file ... sorry for the wing mix-up ... I had no idea that I had used an airfoil from one of the add-ons when I made this plane.

I tweaked the file after many of my Avistar flying sessions to get it as close as I could to the real thing. It worked great for me. If you want real fun, swap of the .40 for a jet engine and hold on :D

RE: Avistar for G2 question

Hi everyone, my real avistar has a thundertiger pro .46, and a macs tuned pipe, it flies very fast, and the avistar file flies that my real one, I only swaped the engine, and programmed the dual rates, Thanks Cfossa, for the contributing file. When I purchased The G2 version, it was the first file that I downloaded to practice.

Thanks,

Raul

RE: Avistar for G2 question

Good evening, I too would like to know where to get the download for the Avistar 40 for the G2. My son and I are new to this (since June of this year). I've had a few people tell me to practice with the G2 inbetween real flight time.
I just purchased the G2 stuff and I am waiting for the delivery. If I know where to get the download, I can start with the right trainer from the beginning.
These forums have been great for a newbie such as myself, thank you for the information

Respectfully
Greg

Greg,

I posted the Avistar to the G2 swap page, but I'm not sure it is still there. PM or email and I'll send it to you.

Welcome to the hobby!

RE: Avistar for G2 question

Afternoon all,
I finally got my G2 working on my new workstation. My son and I love it. I think it has helped out alot with regard to the real flying.
Ok, I've downloaded Carl's Avistar plane.

How do I install the plane as a choice?

Also, I have 4 disks of add-ons for the simulator. Do I just place the disk in and let it run to get those as a choice?

Thanks again Carl for the Avistar, can't wait to get it loaded and flying.

Greg

I think I sent you the executable files. Just double-clickon teh downloaded file and it will install the plane to the right directory.
