Snaps with elevator G2

I'm trying to learn some basic aerobatics and am finding one thing annoying regardless of the plane. When setup with lots of elevator and a rear biased c.g. ala a 300 or any other aerobat (I happen to be using the Somethin' Extra) snap rolls always happen with any elevator deflection higher than 35 degrees. Is this just an anomoly with G2 or is this a real world situation? I can change the plane to "fix" the problem but then it's harder for me trying to get the hang of hovering. Keep in mind I've been trying 3D for exactly 1 day. Do I just work through it or is there an actual problem?

what you do is have a high rate with your 35 degrees of throw and a low rate with 10 degrees of throw put this on your radio switch, which will need to be at least a 5 channel radio; otherwise, you will have to use like the letter o, or p for a example as the 5th channel. you are burying the snaps at 35 degrees. most flyers only fly the 1/4 birds with 6-15 degrees of low rate throw and maybe 30-50 degrees of high rate throws on the elevator for the 3d stuff. remember that much elevator 35 degrees for normal snaps is to much......

I looked at my post again and I wasn't very clear. The snaps are purely unintentional. I don't want them to happen. Mainly because it even happens at lower speeds (more of a tip stall) and there is no warning. It just snaps at high speed or falls off at lower (but way above stall) speeds. It's probably all in having a "feel" that comes with experience. I'll keep practicing.

what is happening is too much elevator. this will occur on most rc airplanes with too much elelvator.what ever rate you have it set at,half it and see if it isn't better.

good luck

have you tried to blow the plane up on the scale? I have mod. my cap 232 on g-2 if you are not having any luck let me know and i will send you the file mine does not snap just regualr flying. I have made mods to the radio settings also by putting in expo on low and high rates also go to this site to download planes other flyers have built along with recordings, skins for the planes and all that kind of stuff.

hope this helps you some if not let me know.....

Yeah, I've been changing the scale to 2:1 just so I can see it a little better. I've dropped the elevator throw down to 25 degrees and it's okay now. Just not quite as responsive. I've also got a lot of exponential cranked in as well as 40% difference between high and low rates. It flies okay. I'm just curious as to the reason for the snaps from elevator input only. I've tried to be very careful about accidental aileron input. Maybe just not careful enough?

The "snap roll" you are getting is actually called "coupeling" ... too much elevator or too much weight in the aft will cause "coupeling" on almost ALL planes (real or sims) ... What is actually happening to cause the "snap roll" is the tail of the plane drops so fast it actually flies faster than the nose ... this will cause the plane to "couple" ... hope this helps
