Ben,

Just hit the Backspace bar while flying.

The screen shots are stored in the main RealFlight folder. There will be a file called "LastScreenShot" that is a bitmap (.bmp) as well as the same image in another file called "ScreenShot#############.jpg" which is usually better for e-mail purposes since it's a much smaller file.

Are you saying that it makes two picture files, one a BMP and the other a JPG?

Geistware,

The bitmap file gets overwritten every time you do a screen shot. It is always the "LastScreenShot". That same image is also converted to a JPG and assigned a number by the RealFlight program. The JPGs are not overwritten so you can store as many as you like.

I don't know if you will be able to read it in the example below, but the "LastScreenShot" bitmap file is over 3.6MB (I run at 1280x1024) while the JPG of the same image at the bottom of the screen (notice they both have the exact same time stamp) is only 275KB.

Chris,

I did them. I have done about 30 schemes covering most of the jets including the F-4, F-16, F-15, F-86, Harrier and KingCat. The only one I haven't done anything with yet is the A-10. I am in the process of getting most of them zipped up and doing thumbnails for posting them (except for the F-16 in the bottom right corner - the FAV/green camo one - since that is one I downloaded from the RealFlight site.) I'll let you know when they are up on the web.

The latest one I finished (last night) is of the Thunderbirds F-16, done using digital pics of a 1/48th scale Armour Collection T-bird I keep in the bookcase in my office.

How do you get all of the planes on the runway at the same time? BTW, they look great. Are they all real (authentic) schemes, or are some of made up by you?

I'm also a little curious on how you got them all on the runway at the same time. But I'll just tell you, those are awesome planes you got there. I'll be looking forward to getting some of them :D. Oh, and do you use Adobe?

Jeff, v-max56, and MadDriver,

Thanks for the compliments. Most of the schemes are based on actual planes although some I have made up.

The parked planes are just short recordings (3 seconds or less) of stationary planes - all played back at the same time. Taxi the plane you want to a location, hit the "r" key to record for a second or so, name the recording and then play it back. Choose another plane and then repeat the same sequence. The overhead shot down the centerline of the "noon time lineup" was I think 22 recordings. One hint: it's a good idea to hit the stop button of each recording because the sound of all the engines idling can drive you nuts.

Hey Lou,
When are you going to upload those planes?

Im really excited about the work you have done.
Could you post some picts of your Phantom colection?
Cyas,
Chris

MadDriver,

Sorry I missed your last question - I use PaintShopPro.

Chris,

I tried uploading zipped .DDS files to here on RCU but they aren't supported. I thought about changing the file extension to a supported file type so then you could download the file, rename the file extension to ".zip", and then unzip it to your Color Schemes folder - but don't know whether that will work either. I'll let you know when they are up and where. I had previously sent some to the RealFlight site but for some reason the e-mail messages were rejected.

I've only finished two Phantom schemes. The Blue Angels and the Bicentennial '76. I'm working on two more: the Thunderbirds and the Marine squadron scheme I forget the name of but it is the one that was done by Dave Fusinato. Here are the two I have so far:
