Flat Spins on G2

Can you do flat spins on G2? I don't seem to be able to do them.

Although I am no 3D master, I myself have tried to flat spin on G2 and couldn't do it either.

According to what I've heard, G2 is not capable of performing many 3D maneuvers. I have been able to do a few things on there like hovering but only with specially modified planes.

Are flat spins the only thing that you have tried to do on there that didn't work?

I can hover somewhat on G2. I can do it all day at the field. I usually try new maneuvers on G2 before I try them at the field, and the flat spin is one that I haven't done on a real plane. I've also tried other 3D stuff like water falls and harriers on G2 with no luck.

I can frequently get the AT6 to do an inverted flat spin where the plane is rotating on it's central axis point just like in real life......not just flying in a tight circle. You have to snap it into a very rapid spin with lots of throttle, then slowly bring back the throttle and slowly cross control.

There seemed to be another plane that flap spun, but I have so many different ones loaded in my computer I don't remember which one.

BTW, I am getting some models to actually hover, but when they start to go into a torque roll, I loose it, cuz my brain can't shift gears that fast, yet.

Some can do a fairly decent water fall, high alpha knife edge, etc.

G2 has some 3D capability if the planes are set up right, but not all planes can do it all.

GarySS, did you get a stock AT-6 Texan to do an inverted flat spin or was it modified?

Also, APF will let you do 3D maneuvers on it; or at least they have advertised that it will.

I've got some videos of flat spinning on the front page of aeroflypro.com

Scroll down a little and watch the Maarten De Moor videos. He does lots of spins and 3D that's pretty amazing.

Well, after several months of not using the AT6, I have to admit that it doesn't do a flat spin very well. It does rotate around it's central axis, but the spiral is not very flat and I can't cross control more than say 25% before it flops out. Bummer, I thought it was better than that.

I have increased the size to about 96 inch wing span, set the CG at negative .3 inches, and am using a Supertiger 4500 engine. Oh well,........

That's about all I can get out of the Sukhoi 3D.
