How do you make your own models for reflex xtr?
Does anyone know what I need to make my own models for reflex xtr?

RE: How do you make your own models for reflex xtr?
It's called RMK and is a free download from the www.reflex-sim.de site but I'm pretty sure there's also a copy on the XTR CD itself too.
Actually, I just checked, and XTR installs the program a link to it on the Start Menu anyway - use the "Reflex Model Editor" link Cliff |

Helo36,
Thanks for that link. I started to "play" with RMK last night (I've previously used Metasequoia a LOT for drawing FMS models) and while I finally got the message that you have to start by defining everything in terms of points and then linking these to make surfaces etc. there were several bits that still weren't clear. That link looks like a GREAT explanation of the whole process. Thanks. Cliff (it's quite an interesting translation from the original German!) |

Glad you found it, I just got reflex last month..already I have done a scenery for my flying field we have. What I have done is take 24 photos, did them on tripod with camera in portrait instead of landscape. I then put them into ulead cool 360 and made the panarama. I then had to add grass to bring the horizon to the right height (compared height with actual photo from sim). I had to then resize the piture to lenght at 8160 (required by reflex). Then you will have to enlarge the canvas to 3060. I cleaned up the picture, put in photo impact and used the sunlight feature to add sky to the panarama. I then backed up the scenery files, saved the finished panarama as S2.bmp and replaced one from the orgional scenes..and viola, my flying field in the sim. This process could be alot easier if you had a camera with fisheye lens though, all I have is a sony 2 mega pixels digital camera.
I'm thinking of taking pics of one of my heli's and try the RMK this week Ken |

Yup I did the Ulead thing too but there's always the question of perspective (unless your field has an identical layout to one of the 5 supplied). The .wlm file obviously defines how near/far things are and if your Ulead 360* pic doesn't match then as you fly the plane around it appears to get bigger/smaller. Maybe one day the Reflex people will explain how to create your own WLM too?
