Ok here are some pics of the F4U-1A Corsair, in the air.
I don't know why mine doesn't want to lift off the ground. I even launched it off the carrier going pretty fast at full throttle, but it just fell straight down into the water. My other planes don't do this.

Oh Richard,

could it be, the Corsair uses a wing profile from the AFP expansion pack and you don't have this installed?
The profiles are located in the ...\aircraft\airfoil directory.

Nice, I just flew that same Utli in AFP, and it is hard to keep it straight in a hover. How is it in AFPD?
Guess I'll have to go get it. Forgot about that one!

That could be it. I don't have the expansion pack, and there is no ...\aircraft\airfoil directory.

IMO this is the best free download (other then the OMP planes :D)

Corsair F4U.

The guy (Lego) that did this deserves design of the year. Not only in looks but in flying. He's got another warbird with bombs and missles too. Retracable wings...I forget what it is but it's cool. Even has retract cowling that opens and you can see the whole radial. I get that one up too, it's amzing. Make me actually want to break down and get a snorebird.

matt3D where did you download that scenery? (The photo one)

matt3D 12-24-2004 07:06 PM

RE: Your Best RC Sim Screenshots!

Hi Pauluk2w,

You can download that scenery here: [link=http://www.rc-sim.de/index_dl.htm]http://www.rc-sim.de/index_dl.htm[/link]

-You have to regester with the website, its fast and easy.

-Once you're regestered then go to Downloads, Ipacs, Aerofly Pro, AFP Scenes, then go to the 3rd page and you should see the photo scenery that I used for some of my pics.

-The scenery is called Col de la Bonette and there are many more cool sceneries their to choose from.

Oh ya, I think once you're done downloading and extracting the file in the AFP scenery folder, you need to convert the .jpg to .bmp, you can do this in any photo editor, like PH7, Paint Shop Pro 7, Microsoft Photo Editor, etc.

There are 2 new free photo sceneries coming for Deluxe! One of them is indoor.

They won't be like the beta ones for AFP either. All mapped out.

There is a freeware program now for mapping out photoreal scenes.

STLPilot,

Now tell us the truth please. [8D]Is there significant difference between the physics models of AFP Pro and Deluxe? I'm asking because before the release it was discussed somewhere that there isn't. According to the thread the onyl siginificant difference are the photorealistic sceneries and better graphics which make it by far the best in all areas both aesthetic and functional.

I'm wondering whether is worth of buying for an existing AFP Pro user like myself. ;)

Sorry about that let's carry on with the shots.

Matt3D, the indoor scenery with the Ultimate is from that site you indicated. Try to download Mkland, nice job and is vector based with collisions etc.

Rgrds,

Nik

I have the same question as Nickolas does too about AFPD. Where can we download the scenery programer?

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Thanks,

Matt

YES! The physics have been improved for sure. There are other posts that say the same thing. Maybe not in this thread, but in several others. But remember AFP had great physics to start out with. The physics engine has been more improved towards smaller planes too. Dozeens of people are telling me that the upgrade is worth the ShockFlyers alone.

IPACS focus is physics before anything else. It just happens to have new scenery and that's just a bonus. IPACS will only continue to focus on the 3D worlds much more so then the photorealistic worlds.

There has not been 1 single post that has not been anythign but praise for AFP Deluxe and this goes for AFP owners, so look around and PM the people that got it. There is an easy reason for that, they now own the #1 and #2 most realistic sims out there. Or giving AFP as a gift. Most people that have AFP are buying the full version, not the upgrade, so there are hundreds of previous owners with AFP.

This is also the same reason that we are selling just as many current versions then we are the Deluxe too. Original AFP, as you know, rocks. Now that the price is down low, people can save money and own the #2 sim.

Go into the AFP support forums and sort threads by FAQ's. You will see a thread, "How to make sceneries for AFP".

I'd like to at least try AFP, but I doubt it would run well enough to my liking.. So I guess ill just stick with RealFlight G2.. I just spent 150 on that anyway. And I think its great so far.

My first flight in G2!! This screenshot is special, cause I actually managed to save it from crashing (Dont ask me how! It was close!)
