AFPD or Reflex XTR?

I fly both planes and helis and I'm having a tough time deciding which to get.
Can some Heli flyers please share your experience on the helis in AFPD.

I've had AFP for about a year now. I tried Reflex at the Chicago International RC show a few months ago and it did not impress me. Now it could have been the setup but AFP planes fly awesome right out of the box. This is just my opinion and I reserve the right to be wrong.

Kuan Han,

If you fly mostly Heli's buy XTR. It is far better than AFPD.

Actually, AFPD and XTR is a toss-up right now for flying airplanes, but both programs have their strong and weak points. I really like both!

I haven't tried XTR yet, but I do own AFPD.... I will tell you this.... It was obviously intended much more for fixed wing pilots than rotary wing ones... The planes fly fantastic right out of the box.... The heli's are terrible right out of the box.... It's nothing wrong with the sim... It's the setup of the heli's themselves.. I spent two days trying to get a raptor tweaked to fly like the real thing... I've got it now, and have it available for download (see http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/Down...2467959/tm.htm I honestly have to wonder if the programmers actually ever flew a heli... Anyway, once you get the setup right, since the physics engine is so good, it flies pretty nice...

Bottom line, I don't think you'd go wrong with either XTR or AFPD... I'm actually trying to decide rather to use some xmas money to add XTR to go with AFPD, or spend it on a little micro to chase the dog around the house with when the weather is too bad for the nitro... :D

ohh
you can also use the G2 controller on it...
I bought the SIm blaster cable and it allows me to use any futaba based transmitter with any sim.

what I reccomend is that you watch the simulations on it, i.e the pre-recorded ones and then compare to the videos from AFPD and see what you like better.

I am also looking to buy a simulator, most people i know have the GP G2. Can you use your own (Futaba FF9) with the software ?

Thanks for the feedback guys! It looks like it's gonna be a tough decsion that I have to make! Sure can't afford to get both!

I'm flying a Raptor 30 for Heli, maybe I should get AFPD and download rusirius's model.

Reflex XTR includes a Raptor 30 V2.

I use my Futaba 9C with XTR.

Ok reflex simply blows away all other sims when it comes to helis
nothing can touch it.
you need reflex xtr

download the demo and watch the prerecorded flights.
