EasyFly to AFPD

Hello all,
Any previous Easyfly users that bought and using Aerofly Pro Deluxe ? I've read here and other forums the advantages and disadvantages of the various flight simulators, viz., AFPD, Reflex and G3. I strongly looking on purchasing AFPD.
My question, there must be some users out there that have used EasyFly and NOW using AFPD. Now, what MORE are you seeing, hearing (as per sound file), plane flight characteristics, ground handling, etc.

I'm quite sure there's are going to be minor to major differences between the softwares. I would like to hear from some of you on first impressions. I'm using Easyfly without any problems and also using photorealistic backgrounds as well (makes a difference).
Just want to make a wise investement rather than duplicating similar software.

Thanks and will wait for feedback.

:D

RE: EasyFly to AFPD

Hi,

easyfly is a beginner's simulator with a limited physics model.
AFPD is more complex in any way.

In easyfly the geometry and physics are independant, so we could set up fantasy models like superman, x-wings-fighter...
In AFPD the geometry is taken into account for physics calculations.

The number of physics parameters in AFPD is much higher than in easyfly.

Easyfly does not support propeller wind for the control surfaces, so real torque rolls are not possible.
AFPD of course calculates propeller wind for all control surfaces.

Easyfly has only steady wind speed and direction.
In AFPD the parameters vary by a turbulence factor.

AFPD allows 2 player mode, has several contests, recording feature, glider towing, smoke,...
These features are not present in easyfly.

There are sure many more things, but I do not remember in the moment.
But you can be sure, it's not just duplicating the software.

RE: EasyFly to AFPD

Thanks rc-rodeo !
By thw way, I frequently visit your web site for Ikarus files. I figured the differences are there and EasyFly is a fundamental program. I did want to practice off the field with a near-realtime simulator (lighting, graphics, physics of simulator, etc).
At the time of purchase (EasyFly), it was about the best I could find software simulator I could find. With the advent of the internet, I'm able to search and find vendors and users (for opinions).
Question, Reflex's aircrafts react to ground movement, does it apply to AFPD ? I'm also aware of the scenes and aircrafts available for Ikarus software and quite pleased.
If any other users have other viewpoints and observations, I would be interested.
Thanks all again.

RE: EasyFly to AFPD

Another question,
I know the program comes with the USB interface cable for the transmitter. NOW, because AFPD "allows" another user to fly, could I use the existing Easyfly cable in addition to the USB ? That is, am I able to have both cables hooked up and software able to pick Easyfly cable.
Or is it only with the commander version or what ? Not much details on this at the web site.
Thanks again.

RE: EasyFly to AFPD

Hi,

since I still have my easyfly cable as well, I will test it.

What I do like with the new AFPD USB cable: It adds your transmitter as a game device with 4 axes to windows. So you can use it for any other game or simulator, which uses the windows setup.
