MS Flight sim 2004 -- need more planes

I just got my MS Flight sim 2004 and loving it. Is there a way I can download other aircraft from Microsoft or any other site for free, if possible? I would love to have any Airbus - Lufthansa, American, De havilland 800 (twin turbo prop) commercial planes, C130,concorde etc.

If so, are those downloads - safe? from viruses and spywares etc...?

Thanks !!

[link=http://www.avsim.com/]AVSIM[/link] has tons of free planes in their "File Library"

The best payware planes can be found at [link=http://www.precisionmanuals.com]PMDG[/link]

I enjoy being a paid subscriber to http://www.fsplanet.com/

At first it may seem a rip-off to pay for a service containing freeware airplanes. I like, though, that the site administrator samples all the FS2004 freeware out there and emails me (about twice a week) his top "new finds".

If you can find Steve Fossett's website, you can download a FS2004 version (and a FS2002 version, if I recall correctly) of his Global Flyer from there. Should be virus-free, I would imagine.

The link is http://www.virginatlanticglobalflyer.com/ and the link for the FS is in the right-hand column. The whole site is pretty fascinating, actually.

Hope that this helps...

RE: MS Flight sim 2004 -- need more planes

I downloaded a free plane: AIA_747_400_GE_Lufthansa from AVSIM in their "File Library" . Still doesnt show up in the MSFS2004 select a/c menu. I moved that folder 'AIA_747_400_GE_Lufthansa ' as mentioned in the read-me file , to the aircraft folder in FS2004.
doesnt work still...
How do I add it ?? Thanks

Each plane for MS Sim comes with a README.TXT file ... or at least should.

If your not very seasoned on Windows you're going to need someone to help you. The free planes for MS Flight Sim can be very difficult to install.
