Aerofly Pro Deluxe Scenery Tutorial?

Anyone know where to find this??

Is there a tool to make scenery?

I don't mean the scenery importer program, I want to make my own with collision objects and all that good stuff.

I want to line up the sun glare with the sun....etc...etc...

Thanks alot.

Hi,

first you have to decide which kind of scenery you want to create:

1. 3D landscape
Use Metasequoia LE for creation of the landscape. This is the same as creating an aircraft.
Download of Meta and an english workshop can be found at www.rc-sim.de in LINKS section.

2. Foto panorama
You first have to create a 360 degree panorama by stitching several fotos.
Until you finished this my workshop how to go on will be available in english too.
Just send me a note then.

Thanks Rodeo,

What would be the optimum size in pixels (or inches..or whatever) to use when making the panorama?

W X H

Something pretty huge I would imagine.

I will probably use Photoshop.

Thanks alot.

Hi,

AFPD expects a size of 8192 x 4096 pixels.
Adjust the horizon line in the center of the height, this is at 2048 pixels.
If your panorama is not high enough, you can copy parts of the sky and ground to fill it.
The upper and lower boundaries are hardly visible in the scenery.

Rodeo,

I have a question.

How do you determine the best zoom rate at 8192x4096. I've seen some scenes that make the plane look big ... some make the planes look smaller. But then like the AFPD default ones, looks right on the money.

Any suggestions or reference points to use?

I'm not sure about this.

Perhaps it happens, when the horizon does not match the ground OBJ file.
It seems to me, we can see these effects when the ground lies above or below the image horizon.

Up to now it's very difficult, as soon as the airfield is not a totally horizontal plain.
Also it's extremely time consuming to create some collision objects.
But Ipacs will provide a better solution soon.

Hey Rodeo,

Just for the hell of it, I used that AFPD import software program on a Reflex panorama that I first converted to a .jpg.

It worked fine and all, but the resolution is nowhere as good as it looks in Reflex.

Can you share a better way? I want it to be a very 'crisp' image with no loss.

I would like to do it manually instead of use that import program.

Thanks dude
