G3 Startup Error.
 

Couldn't find this error anywhere else... Hrmm.. =/

Okay.. so I had my old XP 1700+ computer running G3 fine.
1.25GB ram, Radeon 8500LE.
Everything was up to date.
No problems.

Except the mobo had a small crack in it (manufactor defect)

So.. we finally decided to get it taken care of...
and I got a New AMD 64 bit 3000+
Same video card, everything else.
Just a new processor and mobo.
New harddrive too.


So, I installed G3, (flying season is coming up, gotta get my thumbs back! :)) start it up... and no go.
I downloaded the updates for G3, and got ready to play...

The terrain got 97/100 loaded, then my computer reset.
Tried it again, same thing.

Figured I'd update windows (I didn't fully update it)
Still didn't work.
I checked all my video card, sound card drivers.. etc..
All are fully updated.
Tried a few more times.. still resets at the same spot.


Uninstalled G3, and reinstalled.
Same thing.

G3 FAQ has nothing, and I don't want to go through all the trouble of what I need to mail them.. =/
Figure this way will be faster ;)

Always resets when the terrain is 97/100 Loaded... =/

no go isn't accurate information to go by. What exactly is happaning?

I used to have a problem when I updated to the previous beta. I would have to drop back to the offical release and then upgrade again to get the program to work. It would get to 97% and then seem to freeze. In actuality it looked like the program was having trouble loading the textures. I traced it back to some custom skins that I was using for some of the planes. I removed them and then redid the patch (selected the refresh option). That solved the problem for me.

When I've had lockup and restart problems, it's been fixed by resetting the configuration: Start the launcher, click Additional Options, then Restore Defaults. You'll have to recalibrate the controller and re-enter any modified NavGuides, but you won't lose any planes or airports. In my experience, G3 seems to prefer a drive that's defragmented once a week or so. Hope this gets you running.
