No it won't, I have been using mine almost two years now and I have never had a problem and I have never read of anyone else ever having problems. Ask your brother how it will damage the radio? It's no different then using your radio at the field.
Just make sure you take the crystal/module out of your radio so it doesn't send out any signal. Some people say if you leave the crystal/module in and the antenna down when using the radio with a sim it will get hot. If you leave the crystal/module in the radio, just pull your antenna out about a foot, that way it won't get hot (but it's best to just take it out).
I take my module out of my radio when using on the sim, it will make the battery last a lot longer (it's not sending any signal).

thank you very much!
what you said about the antenna is the same thing my brother told me, that it destroyed his transmitter because it sent signals to the antenna and it damaged it, obviously he didn't take out the crystal.

thanks, that helped me alot...!

Some radios will switch off the RF circuit automatically when a computer interface is connected. My Hitec Flash 5X and Futaba 9C do this, and it is not necessary to remove the module. On the Futaba, the RF light goes out when the interface is connected.

All the JR computer radios do this as well.

amm.
ok, but...

my brother also told me (today) that the contrrols of the trasmitter are damaged, because using the computer you play much more than real life.

is that true?

(i realy need to know. to choose between AFPD\Reflex)

"Hahaha"

You will be a long time before you ever wear out the sticks on a radio, and if you ever do, it would be so out dated that it would be time for a new one anyway.

Sounds to like your brother doesn't want you to get a simulator for some reason?

People have been using simulators for God knows how long and I have never heard or read that they wore their radio out (maybe the battery, but not the radio).

i'll explain you the situation:
my brother started flying when he was 17, now he's 28.
i remember a situation just like that!! he told me somthing that was completely wrong:
i bought a new computer, and i didnt know what to buy, AMD\INTEL.
i read many reviews and most of them told me to buy AMD64,
but i brother told me not to, because it makes many problems.
i took "the risk" and bought FX-55,
it works great! and i saw that AMD64 is the best CPU choice of 2004. maybe 2005,2006,2007,2008 :D god knows

anyway, same here i undrstand.

about the batteries, i think its better to finish a battery while playing and learning how to fly, practicing also so i won't
destroy my chopper\airplain, cuz when i will it'll cost me much more than a battery :)

my brother doesn't want me to buy a simulator cuz he thinks its a waste of money,

thank you very much, everyone. especialy charlie!

Seems like your brother doesn't know what he's talking about!

A simulator is not a waste of money! Quite the opposite. You will learn faster, and have much more fun with your real planes than ever before. He's just afraid that you will fly better than him ;)

Well, somebody has to pay for it, or it's not going to be made. So he think it's OK for all of us to pay for it, but you should get it for free?

Remember, the guys who make these sims don't have a lot of customers compared to software giants like Microsoft, Electronic Arts, and others. That's why the sims are relatively expensive.

Buy a sim, you'll love it!

Lars
