Hmmm... I can't get it to edit. I just tried to increase elevator control throw a little and It gets all haywire.
Have to go to original settings. Ron |
RE: Flying Thingz Indy Car for AFPD
Im not quite sure about editing it ... maybe Geoff can shed some light. The plane has been set as close to lifelike as possible. I would only mess with the motor if you want some more speed.
My best time with stock X2 on Desert pylon race is 38.5 seconds. Whose going to beat it! |

RE: Flying Thingz Indy Car for AFPD
To change the travel of the tailerons (ailerons / elevator) there are a couple ways to do it. The best is to open indycar for editing withing the sim. Press Object from the top menu and select Leftstabilizer or Rightstabilizer. Changing the travel of these will also change the travel on the ailerons. But do not change the travel assoicated with the wing objects. The tailerons are 1 flight surface being controlled by 2 paramaters so the controls are effected by either. The Airflow over the surface can be adjusted by editing the wings or stabilzers objects but the control travel can only be adjusted by changing the travel on the horizontal stabilizers (Leftstabilizer and Rightstabilier).
Dont select the control travel paramater on the wing objects or it will be automaticaly changed by the sim and the controls will not work correctly. If you accidently do change this and the tailerons have the elevator/aileron function reversed then to fix it you must open the .tmd file for the aircraft. Use notepad, wordpad, etc to open indycar.tmd and do a search for this text cd ServoRightTaileron/ below it you should see the next lines SignalIn = ~Aircraft/Receiver/Out(15) P0 = 0 P1 = 0.698132 change P1 = 0.698132 to P1 = -0.698132 adding the negative sign will correct the direction, now just save the file and try again in Afp. The reason it went crazy after changing the travel it is beacuse the travel on the right aileron changed by highlighting the right wing is actually negative to control its direction. The sim will only alow this when edited withing Afp to be a positive number beacuse it wants each aileron to travel in a differnt direction even though it is now associated with a taileron servo. When you change it withing the sim the direction gets reversed beacuse only positive values are allowed. The aileron and elevator function become reveresed after this. The aileron portion of the tailerons could be removed from the plane, car mower (now thats confusing) and the control travel would be simpiler but then there is not as much control respone in flight. This is also true to change the travel on the flying mower. GeoffH |
