Lets see I made available almost 2dozen colorschemes that were downloaded from my site to the tune of 37gigabytes in a few months time. Countless hours and alot of my$ were spent making this happen. The folks over at KnifeEdge thanked me by treating me like an ***hole and censoring me over at their forums. They actually got so sick of me pointing out legit problems w/the sim early on (a couple of patches ago) that Jim Bourke mailed me a check for more than I paid for the sim after I asked for refund -then told me I could keep the sim if I stopped posting negative stuff about its performance issues (which I did)! I have recieved hundreds of letters from users of G3 thanking me for my contributions and also saying that they would have given up on G3 long ago if it wasn't for my efforts. I feel that knifeEdge was using my site as an excuse for not putting up their own "swap page". Funny how the G3 swap page magically appeared just days after I pulled the plug on my website:D and included some of my most poular work (which was removed at my request).

I am a much bigger jerk here at the RCU forums than I ever was at the KnifeEdge forums and they seem to be able to deal with it:eek:

Doesn't everyone have all my stuff anyway??

I have always had both sims. I use g3 for the multiplayer (when it works).

So you not gonna release the models you made for the filter when we get it? :( Is it possible to convert a AFPD model to work into g3?

Rick,

FWIW the rest of the G3 users appreciated your work ... regardless of how the Knifedge folks treated you. I have a couple of your planes that I downloaded before you removed your site, and they are great! I hope you come back to the G3 USER community in the future. We need guys like you.

I also had to pull all of my repaints and edited aircraft for G3 because of the actions of KE's employees. I noticed one of my edits on the G3 swap page and emailed Great Planes and told them to remove it. They never replied but it was pulled. Like I've always said, I think G3 will be the death knell for KE. They released a product that was totally NOT ready for release. They said they "thoroughly tested" the software but you sure couldn't tell by what we got. They are working their tails off trying to save face with the RC simulator community by coming up with some kind of patch that will make G3 acceptable. They continue to say the support my video card but it will not support shadows and they will not answer my posts about it in their forums. Not only have they censored all of my posts, now they will not even allow any of my posts on their forums. I've yet to see KE take responsibilty for the problems with G3. They always blame system specs or tell users to "edit" airplanes. What a mess.

Rick, we all like your art and appreciate the work you have done for G3. But swearing and name-calling are two things that are not allowed on our forums. You and Jay were censored for both offenses.

We do not censor any posts solely because they expose problems with our software. In fact, we use that feedback as guidance for what to work on next. Our next update is a response to constructive complaints that you and many others have made, all of which can still be found at our site.

Yeah I did some name calling (i think), don't recall exactly what I said -you guys deleted/edited the posts so frieakin fast! That guy who calls himself "Slider" is a real class act!! You guys were real smart to censor the ONLY 2 guys (me and jay) that contributed anything to your sim;)

Its funny I used to fly multiplayer and I would join a room w/like 8guys in it and they would ALL be flying stuff I painted and be talking about how they wouldn't have even kept their copys of G3 if it wasn't for me! Wasn't it you who told me that the E3D I painted was your favorite?

I am not special but I did expect you guys to cut me a little slack when I tried to defend myself against Slider when he decided to announce that he didn't like it when I started new threads about my new models. A warning would have been nice;)

it does suck flying the same scheme on the yak all the time. But i have no idea what really happened but it must have really ticked yall offf to take down websites and take away from the g3 community.

Personally, I think that is a stretch. I downloaded your Miss America repaint and it is very nice. However, it does not make G3.

G3 existed before your repaints, and it will exist just fine without the others you decided to pull from the community at large.

Honestly, reading all your posts concerning G3 paints a very strong picture of egocentrism.

Its not a "stretch" its simple math, the G3 community had 1 guy (me) doing re-paints at the time so of course they were popular. Their was nothing else to compare them to. AFPD has tons of guys making planes, lots of websites to download stuff from etc..

Egocentrism=concerned with the individual rather than society Taking my website down is not egocentric -everyone that wanted my planes already has them. Don't feel like spending anymore of my time (and money) maintaining a website that had a sole purpose of providing the G3 users w/my trimschemes. I enjoy using paint programs as a hobby and have painted 50+ planes for G3 (2 dozen of which were available for download). I thought it was awfully nice of me to share them with everybody, no website registration, no donations just download whatever you like.

I am glad you liked the Miss America -now hows about painting a nice one for me;)

on edit: how would you know if others were using my schemes online if you only have the one? You have to have the scheme installed on your sim in order to see others using it. Ill say it again -evertime I have flown on multiplayer I see other users using my schemes unless its a Heli only session. Anyone else seen my stuff in multiplay??

Rick,

As I said before, I have a few of your planes and they are great. I also understand that you were very generous to "donate" your work to the G3 users.

What I don't understand is how your decision to pull your trim schemes huts Knifeedge. It certainly hurts the other users who enjoyed your work, but I'm not sure it hurts the folks who got you mad in the first place.

That said, they are your trim schemes and you have a right to share them (or not) as you please. Thanks for the ones you did share!

i made that post 6 months ago and ever since, i have seen up to 5 different schemes that you have i try to take pictures of them. but recently since i can not get my g3 to work at all and the tech. support can't help me, i dont see anyreason to keep it anymore.

i dont know when i try to get on it freezes the comp. this has happened before twice and what i did was delete a few things. but that didnt work this time and i also cant update my version jaafit told me that the server was down but i havent been able to get the update since christmas. i have gone though tech. support numerous time with no success.
