Real Flight G3 Shadows
 

hey everybody. i just got real flight g3 a couple of months ago, and i was wondering why there were no shadows??? i looked in the settings and they are on, both in shadows on/off and in shadow quality, low/medium/high. thanks in advance.:D

you have a low end video card. i had to upgrade mine to get the shadows to work.

hi gatorboy, im not quite sure that is the problem, the video card i have runs microsoft flight simulator 2004 a century of flight very well, and g3 runs well too, just there's no shadows[:-][:-].

i have both those games cause im getting my pilots licence so i put the g3 down and plus it doesnt want to work any more but anyway. the second i got a new video card they both started running faster with fps running threw the 200's on the highest setting before they where only 15 and no higher than 22 but it did run really well i have to say for myself.

Its your video card...i would guess a low-end nvidia card...440 maybe? alot of the low-end cards have issues with the shadows

The card i have is the nvidia geforce 4 mx 440. If my card is the problem, which card should i upgrade to?

depends on the comp you have. i have a gfx 5200 and it works alright. in reflex i get around 30fps. if you have an older computer, upgrading to a x800 or gfx 6800 wont help much because your computer cant put out enough data for the card. i would recommend, again this would be a midrange system, around a gfx 5500 or a radeon 9600. if you have the $ a 5950 or a 9800 pro
