New panorama for Float Flying!!

1 Attachment(s)
Here is a new KrugerLake float flying venue for RC simulators... Even though the image is smaller than the supposed 3MB limit here, I never could get the 2.8MB image to display properly on this site, it gets reduced to 800x400 which is useless of course. Download the KrugerLake.jpg panorama from http://aeroflypro.com/pano/pano/ File size is about 2.8MB and the image size is 8192x4096 which is directly suitable for AFPD. Use the AFPD installer wizard to install the new AFPD scenery and then open the KrugerLake Geo file with a text editor such as Notepad and replace/modify the original Geo generic START_POSITION settings with the following lines:

// aircraft viewer
START_POSITION -8 7 -1 190 0 0 1.73 noheli
START_POSITION +8 7 -1 120 0 0 1.73 noheli

Start-Position #1 will now be suitable for float planes and Start-Position #2 for wheeled aircraft...

The panorama image can also be used in G3 and Reflex XTR, although I am not familiar with float planes for these sims. As usual the image size will have to be modified before importing into Reflex XTR....

While the resoultion of the 2.8MB image is quite good, a 10MB version is also available for downloading at http://aeroflypro.com/pano/pano/ Download the zipped jpg file KrugerLake3b.zip for this non-compressed version of the image.

Again special thanks to Dion Cini and Aeroflypro for allowing RC sim users to access and download these non-compressed larger panorama images at the Aeroflypro.com site!!

Enjoy!!

Tony,

Thanks for your G3 optimism, if I understand your humor... at least you can currently fly from the dam on wheeled aircraft! Well, depending on how this imports to G3 you can probably land wheeled aircraft on the water too!!

Doing the collisions including "splash downs" I will leave for someone else... AFPD has some nice custom programing additions in this regard...

AFPD can simulate landing on water ? dam it I'm seriously considering selling G3 and getting AFPD (at the moment the only thing G3 does better is shadows!!)

Tony,

No native float flying or water landings in AFPD but some neat float planes/seaplanes are available from contributors including some reworking of surfaces and simulated glunk-type splash sounds on unfortunate landings!! I'll have to check download sources to be certain but I would guess rc-sim.de has these planes and scenery mods...

Perhaps at least you should develop a friendship with a local who has AFPD, yes?

Alma,

That Pitts looks great in this particular venue, my favorite float plane so far as well!

Are there other float planes out there that you particularly like? I am familar with perhaps half a dozen on the rc-sim.de site and Authur's site, do you know of others?

Glad you like the new scenery!!

The DO-X goes very slow here , i don't know how that come , the last grumman albatros goes wel, must you try it ...[8D][&:]
