G3 SIM, Where can I find additional aircraft?
 

Where can I find additional aircraft for G3 and how do I import them in to the SIM?

Here are a few sites that I know of, I have the G2 right now but plan on getting G3.. You can also purchase the add ons 1-5 to get more planes..
*In some cases make sure and look to see if you need the additional add ons to use the aircraft or flying sites, if you dont have the needed add ons the planes, helis, flying sites will not work... After you download the files to your computer some may open and install on their own, or you may have to unzip them, in that case go to start menu, your computer, where you have G3 installed, open up the RealFlight folder then open the planes folder, or airport folder, take the unzipped file and drag it into the specific folder..

Unfortunately there are no free additional aircraft available for G3.

There are modified versions (i.e. flight characteristics & Paint scheme) of the aircraft which come with G3 . These are available from the Realflight website ….

Yah, better get your pocketbook out! Knife-Edge has been saying that they're almost ready to release the utility that allows you to create custom aircraft. But it hasn't come out yet. So unless you shell out extra cash to purchase Add-ons #1-5, your stuck with just different sizes, colors, and minor modifications of your existing aircraft.
Like you, the impression I got was that I would be able to freely download all kinds of planes and heli's off the internet. I was a little disappointed.
Now don't get me wrong, I love the G3 sim to pieces! I have purchased one of the add-ons. I don't remember if it was #4 or #5. It was the one with the KingCat, Osprey, and Tigermoth.

Must be taking longer than Great Planes/Knife Edge thought to sell-down the add-ons disks 1-5... ;-}

We are working on a free patch that will allow anyone to create aircraft from scratch. We're not sure when it will be released, but it's our highest priority at the moment.
