help with tru flite

Hi all,
I have recently bought a 2nd hand version of tru flite 3.6. I would like to upgrade it to version 4.03 but the installer comes up with can not find the previous version of software. What directory should the tru flite software be installed in?

Regards
Pete

RE: help with tru flite

[8D]I've got ver 4.8. It came with my dummy transmitter (TF-TS2), which has a DB 9 serial plug on it. The controller worked well till the dog chewed the plug off. So I'm in need of the pin outs for mine. The cable has 4 wires, red, blue, green, and yellow. There is or has never been a microprocessor in the plug like Tru Flite tried to tell me there had to be.
Regards Rick.

Hello pwe169,
your problem is a quite long time ago but I think I can help you.
I bought (also long time ago) the TruFlite software (Version 3.6) + controller TF-TS2.
What I can tell you is that the installation of the software is performed with a simple DOS-Script. This script creates a directory named "TRUFLITE" in the root of the given drive and copies all files from the floppy disc (in my case) to this directory. So if you decide to install it to C: then the folder where TruFlite is installed would be C:\TRUFLITE.
I hope I could help you.
Best regards!

Hello rickastley,
the pin out of the TF-TS2 is as follows:
Pin 2 - blue
Pin 4 - yellow
Pin 5 - green
Pin 7 - red

I hope I could help you!
Best regards!

Hello everyone,
Ikarus told me that the TF-TS2 doesn't work any more with any newer version of their software.
So I thought I'll try to reverse-engineer the TF-TS2 to use this controller for something else, for example controlling servos or so.
Has anybody experence which signals does this controller sends over which pin of the plug? I suggest it is anyhow pwm modulated but I don't know, yet.

By the way - I'll ask Ikarus if I could get some infos about the controller (protocol, etc.).

Any help/ideas would be appreciated.
Best regards!
chris
