Can anyone fly this thing?? Has anyone figured out how to get the thrusters to hover instead of 'reverse'?? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Im using a tranmitter interface with my futaba Super7 Heli radio. I use the pitch knob(dial), to turn thrusters full and back. I can set it at about 3 oclock position and get the harrier to lift straight up and also land perfectly. If your using a rotory knob dont go full turn. I dont know how else you would be able to use thrusters without rotory dial. Unless you can set up a switch and adjust the throw in the setup menu.

Is this based on a real model? I've heard rumors of a manufacturer or two who are playing around with the idea of a Harrier but I haven't heard of any that exist.

I"m flying the harrier, it's a riot. I took my laptop loaded with G2 to a friends house tonight, jeff has 4 kids ranging from 4 to 13. they all wanted to fly, they go so excited they were screeming, crying and fighting. when it came to bed time, jeff had to threaten the kids with spankings and they still wouldn't go.

You wanna know what they all wanted to fly the most? The harrier!

P.s it's sure was fun to get jeffs kids all crazy and then leave. :)

a laptop is the only way to go, but you have to get the right one.

Corsair Fan,

Do you have the original transmitter form GP, or the new one with the rotary knob? My add-on 4 disc should be here on Friday....can`t wait!!
Thanks, Kerry

I have the new one with the nobb, I don't know how you could adjust the thrust without it

I'm sure the interlink with the knobby makes it easier, but the standard G2 controller works ok. With it, I think the top right toggle gives the nozzles an all or nothing rotation.
To keep from rolling back, you just give it some down elevator on lift off. With a little practice you can use down and up elevator to move the jet anywhere you want and do nice vertical landings and take offs. It's really cool to do a smooth transition from forward flight to a true harrier landing with this plane.

The one I bought is a sager 5660 s1 the base model cost about 1700 and change, I made a few upgrades, like the screen, the 40 meg 5400 rpm hard drive, added windows xp home addition. I think thats about it. The final price was about 1950. NO tax and I think shipping was about 30 dollars. I had the computer in about 5 days from the tme I ordered it. The guys at Staples tell me this is the best laptop made. I took it in the store and all the computer geeks huddled around it like it was cindy crawford or something. The owner of Discount Laptops.com is Matt. Tell him John Rowe sent you. He'll know what I bought as well

jrjohn,

Is that a 40 MB hard disk? I think Windows XP needs at least 300 MB as the bare minimum. Maybe 40 GB ;)

Also, which processor and at what speed?

Thanks,
C.P.

oops. it's a 40 gig hard dirve. the front buss speed is 533. and the processer is a 2.53 pentium 4. is that what you wanted to know?

Yeah thanks.
2.53 (GHz?) P4! Sounds like a sweet machine! My home PC is only a 1.8 GHz P4 and it runs Real Flight G2 just fine, it probably kicks @$$ on yours. I assume it has a decent video processor as well.

Very cool!

it has a Radeon 9000 graphics card. I can't imagine why anybody would buy a big bulky desktop anymore when you can get a laptop like this. Although, it is more expensive than a desktop with the same hardware. I just love that I can take it places

the only way that pety little 1.8 is going to kick my laptops *** is if you drop that big heavy thing on it. Yours is like a sumo wrestler against my speedy lite rabbit

LOL

I didn't mean to say that mine kicks butt on yours.
What I meant to say was that Real Flight G2 kicks butt on your laptop compared to my PC.

lol....... I figured that. do you know anyway to change the clowd cover? My edge 540 blends right in with the clowds. or better yet, Is it possible to change the color of the airplane?
