MS FS 2004 - need help with ILS

Guys!
I have been enjoying MSFS04 for many months but unable to learn ILS. Landing s are always a problem. Could some one give me the steps in using a cesna or a 777 maybe ... to use ILS in it to land...
Thanks in advance
Kris

Just tune your radio to the correct ILS frequency and hit the "approach" button and you'll pick up the ILS

Thanks...

Whats the best plane to practice ILS a cesna or 737/777 etc?

How do I identify ILS freq? If I tune in with my radio , should I use Nav1 or Nav 2 ?

I dont have the sim in front of me. But if you find the destination airport on the map in the menu, when you zoom in enough you'll see the ILS freq of the runway you want to land on. Since you cannot get radar vectors to the initial approach fix, just decide an appropriate intercept angle and fly it until the needles react, you know what to do from there.

Or, a bit more advanced, you could devise an intersection from nearby VORS that would work for an IAF and go from there.

As to which Nav, it depends on the plane. Either should work, but the guage that is operated by the nav needs to have both localizer and gs indication. If I recall, the cessna only has one guage that has both. The jumbos usually have a switch that you toggle for the glass display to indicate nav 1 or 2.

Again this is from memory, as I am at work right now, But I think it is right.

The most applicable rule in instrument flying is to stay WAY ahead of the airplane. So, plan plan plan the whole flight. You can't fly instruments on a whim, especially in flightsim because you dont have as much at your disposal as you do in the real deal.

Great answer Bryris,

Now I can find the ILS freq when I go home and fly ....from the Map.
You mind answering my last question in the last post titled: "Need ILS help "?

Thanks!!
