Changing the look of models to look flat in G3
 

Is this possible. I edited the micro Ultimate so that it it looks like the Eflite profile in the editor and so that it is light weight etc and flys like a profile. The problem is that it still looks like a full fuse model when I am flying it in the sim....


Is there any possible way of changing this????

Also custom painting. Is this hard to do???? Can this be done using regular windows programs such as paint etc???

The answers are no, no and no.

The only way to change the way a model looks in G3 is to create one from scratch using the new update tools (that aren't released yet) and 3DSMax (which costs $3500).

Microsfoft "Paint" will not allow you to edit "targa" files which is what G3 uses for texture mapping the planes.

You will need to purchase a Paint program. I use (and reccomend) PaintShopPro cause its cheap ($90-110 price range) and works great. Adobe Photoshop is also an option but is considerably more expensive ($649.00) and is not any better than the current version of PaintShopPro. Like anything else their is a learning curve to painting aircraft and it depends alot on how fast you pick up on things.

I have a few of your models that you had on your site for awhile and I really like them. I would just like to say that I feel you are an asset to the RC sim world.

It seems to me that the majority of G3 users would prefer to buy more planes rather than get them for free. I am not going to fight a losing battle anymore concerning this, I will download the expansion pack (err I mean purchase) when it becomes available.
