Flaps on heavy warbirds

Hi, I am just wondering if the flaps function is accurate. I do not have a lot of time on heavy warbirds. Okay here's the deal I created a 40lbs + P51 I can land This thing on about every runway in G2 without (hardly) a bounce I am an experienced pilot with about 10yrs of flying. When I use the flaps I bounce all over the place! I have good throttle and rudder skills but the aircraft seems to balloon, I am planning on a warbird in the spring and I am trying to get a little practice. Are the flaps really needed if your used to high wing loadings? I am having a ball greasing this thing, even in 15mph crosswinds! Without the flaps. Maybe I should not be using full flaps. Any input would be great! Thanks a bunch!!

Flaps on heavy warbirds

I have the same problem and just stick the landing with down elevator. Also, does anybody else find the ground effect a little strong, I seem to almost bounce back into the air without touching the ground with some of the models. All that said, I love my G2.

that is one thing wrong with the simulators,The flaps on a model don't really work like that!!! I think when they designed that feature they did that on purpose to exagerate the landing which is nothing like landing a 35 pound warbird at all. Don't think they could put it in realistically so that's the way it is. When flying my 35 poound Ziroli p-47 when I drop the flaps half way around the field before landing I don't even know they are down until I'm on my final aproach. The flaps stabilize the aircraft at lower speeds slows the plane down and allows me to fly the aircraft in with more power until I wan't to put it on the ground. I can actually fly the aircraft to the ground without stalling it or in an essence landing a deadstick aircraft! easiest way for me to describe it, hope that didn't confuse you. Terry F
