Realflight G2 and NAT?

I have a hardware firewall that I poked holes through for ports 6073, 2300, 2301, 2302, and 2303. I also have NAT configured to share my one IP address on the cable modem with a housefull of computers.

In multiplayer I can search and find sessions (IP address). When I search for sessions at the IP address it never finds any. Does multiplayer work with NAT configured?

Realflight G2 and NAT?

I ran into the same problem. Unless you have others behind the firewall also on G2, you won't find any other IP's. I don't know if it only scans within the range stipulated by the mask ???

Anyhow, I had a spare PUBLIC IP that I then used, and it seems to work fine..... So, in a word... NO.... Doesn't seem to like NAT for purposes of hosting......

Realflight G2 and NAT?

I can understand not being able to host a game, but how about joining one? Can I do that with a NAT based IP address??

Realflight G2 and NAT?

I am also sitting behind a firewall with NAT. Hosting a session of my own does not work, but joining other hosts is no problem. It works fine for me.

Just so that I understand you correctly, do you mean that you can search for hosts, and when you select one of the hosts to search for sessions G2 never finds any? I think I have come across that once or twice, but it works fine most of the time.

Realflight G2 and NAT?

That is what happens. I can search and see IP addresses (hostnames) but when I search for a session using one of these IP addresses it never finds one. Any ideas??

Realflight G2 and NAT?

Well, here at home, I have a wireless network running behind a firewall with NAT (all private IP's).

I have never actually scanned for hosts. Normally (and this has been a LONG time) I would use an existing host (no longer functioning) by domain name and poof , I was in...

Realflight G2 and NAT?

jctpro, how about temporarily connecting your computer with G2 on it direct to your modem, or whatever you use to connect to the Internet? Would that be possible?

If you run it like that just for a short while and try to search for and join a G2 multi-player session, you should be able to tell whether it's your firewall that is causing the problems or if something else is wrong.

The few times I have experienced the same problem, I could never see any obvious reason. It always started working again a little later by itself.
