Aerofly pro vs. G2
I have read a lot concerning both of these simulators. From what I hear, G2 has better graphics, but Aerofly Pro is more realistic in knife-edge and below stall speeds. Also, it is possible to create new airplanes for Aerofly Pro, but only edit the schemes and performance and such of G2 aircraft. How do the two compare? Is G2 really worth the extra 60 bucks? Also, the Aerofly pro website lists transmitters compatible with it. The transmitters seem to be UK versions of Futaba transmitters (FX series). Can I still use my Futaba 8UAPS transmitter with Aerofly pro?

Aerofly pro vs. G2
The only thing I don't like in AeroFly Pro is primitive scenery (FMS type flying fields). The planes themselves are as good or even better than in G2. You can see landing gear bending on hard landings!
Regarding transmitter compatibility. When you buy AeroFly, it'll come with a little dongle, which connects your TX to PC's serial port. But that's not the only way to connect a TX. While the dongle is plugged to the serial port, you can connect any other TX-to-PC interface, like gameport cable sold at http://www.milehighwings.com/joystick.htm , and control the sim using this other interface. I tried this with my Futaba 7UAP and it worked great. Hope this helps. |

Your link doesn't work for me. It might be because there is a 'period' (or comma) at the end of the line.

Aerofly pro vs. G2
...i own AFP and have flown my son's G2 quite a bit - i think hovering is more realistic in AFP and the planes are easier to see...
...even when you explode the image, i get eye strain and a headache trying to determine the model's position when flying in G2 - much clearer model image, less eye strain with Aero Flight Professional...the scenery seems ok to me - i didn't buy it for the scenery... |
Aerofly pro vs. G2
I don't know if the later versions of AeroFly Pro comes with more sceneries and I admit that they are not all to realistic in graphics but a couple of the sceneries, in my version that is, have next to photo-realistic graphics.
Remember that AFP runs OpenGL drivers instead of Direct3D, and some OpenGL drivers, even though the simulation seems to work fine, definitely not do AFP justice. |
