Aerochopper on new Computers

Hello,

I have an Ambroshia Aerochopper flight simulator, its about 5 years old and when I attempted to run it on my new computer is does not work.

Anyone have a patch or solution for getting this one cranked up?

My old 486 is long gone...

Thanks,
Don

Don,
I tried to getting the RC Aerochopper to work on my pc. It is a 1.2 gig Celeron.
I had trouble using the remote. If I plug it into either com port using a gender changer (new pc's don't have a 25 pin com port). The entire pc goes nutz, or should I say the ps2 mouse goes nuts.

I had to change it over to a slower pc I have on my LAN. But even that has issues with control of the heli.
I am awaiting a interface cord for my fp-7uhf and going to switch to the FMS program.

What is your doing?
Ron

Its functioning ok (loading) but it keeps saying does not recognize the transmitter. I've double checked the installation and IRQ port setting, and they seem ok.

I think the program was designed around DOS. Was hoping there was a windows expert around that would have a patch, etc.

The wonders of computer progress! The graphics are not great but the feel was very close to my planes.

If you know how to, check your bios when you first power up your computer. The com ports might be set to auto on the newer pc's and the program requires a dedicated com port number.
The way to reach the bios on most pc's varies. Here are a few to try.

Watch the top right of the screen.
hit F-2, or del, or crtl-alt-enter when you see the info
F10 on compaqs when you see a blinking cursor in the corner

Hope this helps

Ditto!

I had the same issue on all of the above.

I tried everything.... running Dos mode, emulating olderversions etc.

All it did was justify me buying RF G2 and I couldnt be happier.

My old paperweight is an Aptiva also...

When you turn on the computer, it shoule start doing a system memory check.

When the system memory check starts, or slightly before it starts the memory check, press the F1 key to go to the system setup.

My Aptiva came with Win 95, and before I could get Dave Brown's simulator to recognize the controller, I had to go to setup and give it a SPECIFIC IRQ & com port setting for the serial port the Computer Design's transmitter interface was plugged into. After specifying a speciffic Com port & IRQ, I was able to use the Computer Design's transmitter interface, and use my R/C transmitter even to control the planes on Microsoft's Flight simulators, or any other program that used joystick inputs.

Hi Don, Vince T. of the FARM club, here. If you still want to run Aerochopper and have had no luck on your new machine, I can possibly help you. I have a couple of old PCs that can be set up for Win95 or Win98 which aerochopper really loves. The machine would be about as useful for only the sim itself and nothing more. If interested , email me at [email protected] give me a call at TSG Hobbies in Warrenton. Wouldn't take much to set one up for you and it would be my pleasure. I started heli training on one 5 months ago and transiitioned into hover immediately because the thing is so similar to the real feel of the Raptor heli. See ya. Vince.

If you know anyone who wants to buy at a really good price, pls go for it, or it will be making a journey to the next auction.

Thanks for the talk on the phone about the aerochopper sim.
Definitely consider it sold, taken, off the market. Hope to see you at the picnic 6/22/03. Will stop by and pick it up if you don't make it. Vince.
