New G3.5 Upgrade

G3 will be offering an upgrade in the future. And yes, upgrade, not update. Only a few screenshots have been releasd. So far it is looking really good. No release date out, hopefully they will be smart and not release one and suprise us with it. And yes, completely FREE. Can't wait!

Sure thing. I had this converstion on another forum with nemo_uk, a very well respected G3 modeler for those that don't know.
nemo_uk Got some inside info about RealFlight. Great Planes will soon release G3.5. It will be a free upgrade for G3 owners. Not sure on the features yet, but I will try to find out more. Zelatio Free nemo? Are you sure??? That word 'free' is not used often by Flight Sim folks, or any for that matter. I guess it is just going to be another update from 448, or is it more than that? nemo_uk It will be a free download for G3 owners. Most updates have been "patches" i.e. fixing a few things and maybe adding a new feature. This latest update is much more significant. |

Thanks Zelatio! However, from the folks who I've talked to, it won't be a free update, or anything like it. It will be on cd/dvd and be something to buy. It doesn't sound like Nemo has the "update" yet either. Maybe you should get your info from someone who does have it.(or at least one of the beta versions of it) Also, G3.5 is more than nightflying. There also might be a few other features that have been begged for..........

i would hate to have KE charge for sucha wicked upgrade, i would rather realease it free, so people who cant afford to buy this upgrade, can get it.

I'm happy with the info I got. It's good to know that KE develops something never seen in a rc-sim before. So its great! Of course, we all will see whether it's free or not in the end, but until then the discussion about free or not is useless. Nice! I can't wait! I don't have G3.5, nor have I flown it. I was just repeating an informed source that was currently running G3.5.(hypothetically speaking)

Some of G3.5's "new" features aren't new to RC flight sims. Phoenix RC has night flying and streamer combat already. Torque and heli orientation training was offered on other sims before KE added it to G3. Of course G3 owners will like these great features that other sim owners currently have.

Well that looks like the 3D fields. I sure hope they have optimized their 3d code cause I get horrible framerates on them since about 2 updates ago. I can go back to the old version and get 60-80 FPS then a few updates back they made some modification and my framerates dropped down to under 20 and averaging out to about 10-15. I can't fly them anymore and only fly the photo fields. I sure hope they either:
1. fixed the 3d field code or 2. supplied a night flying photo field. |
