FMS Simulator
I have a Compaq Presario 5340 with 400MHZ processor running windows XP and a Futaba Skyport 4 as a controllor. FMS runs very slow about 1 frame at a time. What cna I do to speed it up?

I had the same problem, buy a new graphics card.
You dont need a $300 dollar card to vastly improve performance. many cards under $50 will do. Good Luck, David |

My graphics card cost me $15 on EBay, a 3DFX Voodoo 3 3000. It is still one of the best graphics cards for simulators even though it has been out of production for many years. I highly recommend it for those on a budget.

FMS Simulator
Hi,
Just to say that I had a 3DFX Voodoo but while FMS was OK on it (on my 525MHz PC) I found that a lot of sims (MS FS2002, Fly! 2K) were doing something like 6fps or less. So I got a Prolink Pixelview GeForce3 Ti200 nVidia based card and saw frame rates shoot up to about 30fps. So I for one would NOT recommend the old 3DFX card as an "upgrade". Far better to go for something with nVidia at the heart as they're just about the only graphics chip manufacturer that you can be sure will still be around in 5 years and continue issung driver updates (cos of Microsoft/Xbox etc.) Cliff |

Thanks, for the advice.
