Buying A Used Simulator

What are the disadvantages to buying used simulator, other than the obvious, "might not work right"?. Can models still be added, and can upgrades be added if offered?

I bought a used g3 from Ebay and was able to register it with great planes. They just wanted proof of purchase. i keep mine updated and now have the g3.5 beta version. I also have about 100 planes.

You should have no problems at all.. I have APF and it has been running for like 2 years... I just upgraded to FSOne! It's nice but you better have a NICE and NEW computer!!

Terry,
Only thing to watch out for are unscrupulous E-Bayers selling the disc without the hardware (dongle). With G3 and AFPD that cable with the dongle or the controller, if it is the version that includes a controller is the "key" to running the software, the software disk by itself is worthless, the vendor won't replace "lost" cables.
Good luck,
Pete

P.S. I may be puting my AFPD for sale after I have a chance to see FS one;)

Terry,

I've got RealFlight G2 that I'll sell. All of the G2 addons work fine for adding planes. The G3 expansion packs do not. I'll let it go because I use G3 almost exclusively now.

PM is you are interested.

Carl
