you probably can upgrade no probs.
Take off the side of the case, if you see a brown slot in the middle of the motherboard (under the CPU) then its an AGP slot.
If you don't see it, and only white pci slots exist, then you gotta find a PCI card.
You disable on-board graphics in the Bios, not in device manager.

Hey Simjen,

Thanks for your help. So I have to disable on board graphics in bios? Just curious, but in device manager. if I click on + sign next to Display Adapters, Intel graphics controller appears, If I right click on that ,I get options to update, disable or uninstall. Are you saying that is not the correct way to disable?

if you disable/ uninstall it in the device manager, windows will find it again after a reboot and it'll install it all over again.
Back to where you started.
You disable it in the bios, and windows won't know
it's there at all.

One more question guys,

I was thinking of going with the GE force 4Ti 4200. What is the difference between BFG asylum version and the PNY verto version? Is one preferred over the other? These just happened to be the ones I saw on Best Buy's website.

normally, all graphics boards stick to the reference design of the chipmaker.
In this case nVidia. only difference may be in the quality of the components used.
what matters are the mem. chips, but also the capacitors. (for longevity).

Driver support also used to be an issue but not with nVidia.
you have to get the detonator drivers from the nVidia site anyways.

So to round up:
it doesn't matter. go for the better bundle in software and
cabling. (like svideo connectors, vid in, vid out 'n all that)

Man, you guys got me thinking that the G2 I got coming in is going to run kinda crappy on my laptop. I got a Dell Inspiron 8000 with a 1g P3 Processor and 256mg ram, I believe I have a GeForce 2 card 64 megabyte. How do you feel it'll run on my computer? I was thinking of ordering a 256 ram, so I'd be running a 128 and 256 for a total of 384 or ram, think that'll make a difference?

I have the 8100, almost the same. I just had a blast running HalfLife TFC on-line.

My desktop is an AMD 550, and it runs G2 just fine.

The Inspiron will be just fine.

Ok thanks alot for everyone who helped me pick out the right computer.
The update i bought CFS3 and im running it with about half graphics, it runs very smooth with a rare lag at the high density stuff. The real problem i have is this game is so hard. lol. Its going to take a while to learn.
Im really pleased with the video card the RAM seems to hold up fine exept sometimes at the rough stops it seems it could use the extra 256. Every thing else is great im quite please,

try http://www.tweaktown.com/document.ph...=guide&dId=120 for tweaking XP. It can make a huge difference to the speed XP runs.
