At first I thought sims were kinda expensive and boring and I would never use them but then I relized that every time I am in the hobby shop I am on the computer playing the sim. So know I am just looking around. I wont be able to get one for a while (computer is OLD and SLOW) but I need some suggestions.

I know there is the G3(played it), G3.5, Fsone (played it), and what esle?? (Worth looking into)

In your guys (and gals (if any)) oppion which sim is the best?? At the hobby shop he had G3 and now has FSONE. But i really dont know what the advantages of each are because all I really did was pick a plane and fly around.

I messed with the fsone yesterday at the hobby shop and saw were there was instructions on how to do things. I have 3 planes and I think i am about to get a SSE to start learning how to so some aerobatics so some help on how do to some of the tricks would be nice.

If you have anything else to add PLEASE do, Please give me some feed back

Ive have both G3.5 and FS-1.

G3 has tons more airplanes available, adn you can fly online with other players, which is great.

FS-1 feels much more solid when you are flying the planes, and the games shooting bottle rockets and dropping bombs on targets is great. Also it is much easier to see the runway for approach in fs-1. g3 you have vertually no idea where the runway is when you are flying.

if you have a powerful computer, both should run great, I have a dual core processor with 1 gig of ram and either of my sims have any lag.

For only one sim, I would select G3, due to the online play and all the available planes/fields.

The g3.5 was what i was thinking but want to see what everyones opinion is. We DONT have the computer for it. We have had this computer for a long time. I want to get a new one but I sure am not going to pay for (maybe my dad will:D). Who knows when we will ever get a new compuer I guess when this one dies. So by then there might be a G4 or even a better sim

In G3.5, there are a number of different options for setting your view of your model. If you choose the one that always keeps the ground in the view, you have no problem knowing where the runway is.

It seems more realistic to me to have the ground always in view since it provides an orientation that none of the sims provide very well. Sitting at an immovable monitor really won't ever simulate standing in a field and turning to face your airplane as you fly around.

It's actually no problem if you're familiar with the settings in the simulation.

when I use the sim at the lhs I loose were the ground is somthime and that really makes it hard to fly but I am not really worried about landing as much as just flying. I am not perfect at landing but I can practice that at the field because you have to its doing all the other low to the ground aerobatics that I want to practice on the sim.

I have read that the when you land on G3.5 it does not look real is that true??
