FMS Physics Realism?
 

How does FMS compare in Realism to other simulators such as RealFlight?

Is it as effective as a training tool?

There's a parimeter add on that comes with the lastest FMS
click my PC/drive/program files/fms...then you'll see it. adjust accordingly to your liking.

there also wind and thermal..adjust to your liking
adjust view or pilot to your liking. You can set your camera posistion in the .snc files

click off the fix camera , this way the model dosn't stay in the center of the screen.

the models dosn't have moveable surfaces, smokes, spinning props and stuff like that.
One of these day someone will design that stuff in...it's free, what else do you want ?

reaslisticly..when I crashed my real R/C models, it's time for me to go look for parts
scadder all over the place and it's time to go home.lol

of course it's an effective training tool or keeping my reflex's up when it's 115 degree, windy, raining outside.lol

FMS is very effective as a training tool depending on the accuracy of the model and the type of airplane you want to fly.

You can learn orientation, landing approach, how to handle wind and gusts and differences between slow models and fast models, aileron trainers, R/E/T, A/E/T and 4 channel airplanes.

Others tell me that as you move more toward 3D flying or acrobatics that the other sims are more accurate and better at training the thumbs.

I'm training on the G3.5. It is better than G2. It's realism is great. Their is a section on there Sierra Nevada and Photo Fields. Sierra Nevada has fun flying sites, day and night ! The photo fields are open fields with much better graphics. (Which is best flying field to train on) Yes, you can learn anything to take-offs, straight flight, aerobatics, to hovering. There is a section just for hovering. Airplane and Heli !!! You can elimanate items on all sites, control wind speed and direction. Their is a Flight School flying site that is awesome. Although other flying sites (like the carnival and obstacle course) are more for fun not learning. For plane wise their is electric and fuel planes. From the Nexstar to the L39. The L39, Texan, and P51 have retracts. Yes, their is a yak54, biplane, wright flyer, and the yak54 comes with gyro, adjustable streamers, and 3D. The gyro helps with hovering a lot. You can modify flying sites and planes, too! Their is a lot of Heli's. Their is a program to help you train with a Heli ! On their you have trainer, military, and sport Heli's. Their is a couple trainers - pt 40 and Nexstar. And their is a special site for gliders - they have many gliders. I believe that the G3.5 is a VERY effective training program. It has gotten me so far. Hope this helps !
