Tried everything!!

Got the latest updates,latest drivers and the oldest.

Shows loading screen then exits nothin else happens,i can get the sim to work if i use an old geforce 2 card with 29.42 drivers only 1s that work except for xp own drivers but evey other game runs tooooo slow.


Any help would be very much appreciated.

Msi mainboard KT4 ULTRA FISR
Msi geforce4 ti4200 8X agp
256Mb DDr
An other borin stuff that dont mean much!

Were you thinking of saying what it is that doesn't work ? So far I've guessed that it's probably one of the many sims which are available.

I assume it's a legit version of G2. I just got mine yesterday off of ebay and it ran on my crappy work computer. Went home and it ran on my amd duron 800mhz ati 32mb 7000 card.
Call GreatPlanes and see what they say. I emailed them about the registration and they were super helpful

Thx m8 but finally got it sorted now, had to reinstall windows,use all l8tst drivers for everything, update 592, an some messin about an it works:)

Just have to master the hoverin bit now:) do all the helis start to drift as u power up?

Hello,

I purchased Real Flight G2 almost a three months ago, and I am
still simply not able to run it.
It seems that I have a lot's of problems with this software.
I tried to install it several times without any success.
I even tried to format HDD.... and still no succes.

I think I would give up and buy new Aerofly simulator, as I would
for shure went crazy with G2.

Does anyone know what is wrong with G2 or had the same problem ?

Now I getting the messages during starting G2 :

'Failed to load driver, error 2'

'Error initializing joystick intterface'

'Internal error 5432 occured'

My system is, Celeron 1700, 256 Mb RAM, GeForce MX 440,
Soltek SL-85ERV mainboard and Windows XP Professional.

Anyone tried new Aerofly simulator ?

Looks like a lot of peeps have probs with g2

try the latest update 592 i think that sorted my g2 out

I think its mainly geforce 4 probs as Geforce 2 and geforce 3 both worked well in my pc when geforce wouldnt

Try the update i mentioned then www.nvidia.com for latest geforce drivers,then www.microsoft.com/directx for direct x9 drivers if all else fails.

When installing turn off any thing running in back ground. When down loading do the same . Disable , anti virus, Pop up , and what eveer else you have , until you have G2 loaded make sure you follow instructions! If all else fails contact Real Flight Support

Thanks for the suggestions.
I tried them all and it still refuse to work.

I even upgraded G2 to the latest version (592), but still no luck.

Now, when starting program, the music start to play and the computer restarts after 1-2 secconds.

Should I buy a new VGA card, maybe ATI instead NVIDIA, or
do something else ? :confused:

It could be a problem with ur sound card drivers then, try removing the card and c wot happens. Thats if uve got 1 it my have onboard sound on the mother board.
Try getting the latest drivers for ur mother too,
The graphic card u have should be good enough if u can get it to work :)

Thank you for the suggestion Scouse.

I have onboard sound card (it is located at mainboard).
I tried to install latest drivers for ALL components I could find.
Guess what, ...it still refuses to work !

I sent an e-mail to technical support.
Still waiting for an answer.

If this will not work, I am pretty shure that I should brought
a one of those white shirts that you can tie your hands on the back ! :)

Now don't quote me but having a ton of gaming experience and running the latest and greatest games on an older PC I think I may know what your problem stems from. I have had games in the past that would seem to start up then crash the computer and more often than not it was due to your monitor graphic setting being set too high.. This can be a pain to mess with due to all the re-starts.. This is under My computer on you start-up screen and go to control settings and mess with your resulution and try running in 16 bit color.
Another issue that I have run into in the past on graphic intensive applications is the simple fact that there is not enough ram left available for the game to draw on. Even if you close down the running programs to your lower right on your menu bar many applications continue to use RAM. I had a computer savy person tell me how to figure out how much of my RAM was being used unknowingly and to my surprise my computer was running 85% of RAM at all times. This number is supposed to be around 20% on the high side. Hopefully someone will read this latter suggestion and be able to walk you through the process of deleting auto-start up and RAM eating programs. I had 740 RAM and still ran into issues with running games. It is all in how it is used.

I know I tend to ramble but if you have updated all your drivers I think these 2 areas would be next easily addressed.

Oh yeah forgot to mention about running games:)

Have u tried any of the latest graphic intensive games on ur pc Kristikan? Sometimes a crash can be atributed to over heating in either - the cpu, Graphics card,and sometimes memory but not often as long as ur power supply fan is working.

Its definetly worth doing wot Happydaze saiys and turn off all non essential progs, Press CTL+ALt+DEL together,a box should pop up saying windows task manager, under Applications tab end all of the programs u see.Dont end any programs under the Procees tab unless u know wot ur doing:)

If u click on the Performance tab it will show u cpu usage which should be very low ( mine is at 2% when not doing anything) and available memory which should also be low like Happydaze says (i have a total of 785904 and 589364 is available while i have a few things running)

Hello all,

I finaly solved my G2 problem by contacting technical support.

They are very fast (I received the unautomated reply within 1 h !)
and very helpfull, .... highly recommended. :thumbup:

The problem was in the interface drivers.
Under my system, they must be deleted in the device manager,
and then again installed, but MANNUALY. :confused:

It doesn't make any sense to me why this must be done, but it
for shure works.

If someone have the same problem like I had, here is the reply
from the technical support that should take care of the problem :


Kristijan,

Thank you for your recent e-mail. We regret the problems you have been
experiencing. When Windows XP reboots, in general, this is due to a problem
with a hardware device. In this case, it very likely the reboot is caused by
a bad installation of the Transmitter Interface Adapter driver. To resolve
this problem you will need to do the following:

NOTE: Before attempting any of the following steps make sure you have the
downloaded the latest online update.
VERY IMPORTANT!!!
Before installing/updating RealFlight or its driver please make sure you
have closed down ALL background applications. Every Icon you see next to
your time in the lower right hand corner are running programs and need to be
exited, closed, shutdown, etc. To do this simply right click over these
icons and select the command to shut it down or disable the program (please
refer to your users manual for the program).
1. Check the Windows Device manager for the RealFlight Drivers category. If
you have one, click the plus sign in front of RealFlight Drivers and
uninstall the RealFlight Driver(s) below. If you do not see a RealFlight
Drivers category the device is either not installed or not being correctly
recognized.

2. Once there are no RealFlight Driver(s),in the Windows Device Manager, you
will need to install/re-install the Transmitter Interface Adapter driver.
Follow the manual installation instructions for your version of Windows.
Windows XP users will view the ManualTX_XP.doc. Windows 2000 users will view
ManualTX2000.doc. These files are found in the RealFlight directory. If you
followed the default prompts it will be C:\Program Files\RealFlight.

3. Restart your computer after installing the driver.

4. Go back to the Windows Device manager and check for a RealFlight Drivers
category again. Make sure you only have ONE RealFlight driver under it. If
you have more than one you will need to remove both and re-install the
driver. This is due to how Windows Manages devices that are not installed
correctly.

5. If you only have one driver, close the Device manager and start
RealFlight.

Is there anywhere F-104 Starfighter model available for the G2 ?

I also brought AddOn CD's and there is only a few jets on it,
and no F-104.

Anyone know when they would release AddOn Vol.5 ?
