FMS Tx cable help?
Hi,
I have a Tx cable with a "9 pin game port" connector (from my old comp). Can I just change the connector to USB? will it work? |
RE: FMS Tx cable help?
No. You need another 9-pin game connector to make that work. Sometimes all you need is a cable that connects to your computers motherboard to provide the game connector, so check your motherboard specs to be sure.
Otherwise, you'll need to purchase a USB cable for your transmitter. -- ggunners |

ggunners,
i do have what appears to be serial port in my laptop , however it is of a different pin configuration > 15 pin. If i change the 9 pin plug to 15 pin plug, will it work? If yes, there are 3 cables connected to the 9 pin plug ( red ; orange ; black ) how do i know where they go in the 15 pin plug? |
RE: FMS Tx cable help?
it should.
it should with the USB connect too, because not all the pins are being used on the D-sub. You have to know which wire gose to want pin for the USB thou. look in the FMS's Folder C:/Programfiles/FMS You'll see instructions and diagrams for D-sub. Another way around it, is to just use SmartPro. There's a link to it on FMS's site It plugs into the mic phone jack. download the correct file for your TX and the correct file of how you want to use it. There's also diagrams for different TX trainer plugs. |
