G2 Lite downthrust
Hi Troops.......
I have G2 Lite installed and working well - except for one issue. The powered planes seem to have waaaaay too much downthrust built in. If they are trimmed for level flight at full throttle, pulling the power back will make them climb radically. Conversely, a trimmed gliding plane will dive if given power. I don't know about you, but this isn't the way my planes are set up. I try to have as little trim change as possible from idle to full power. Am I doing something wrong or is this a fact of life with this software? Thanks, OD |

olderndirt, you're not doing anything wrong, mine does the same thing, just remember to fly the plane, not the simulater. I have heard though that the pt-40 has a horrible thrust problem and GP had the sim programmed exactly like the plane would fly out of the box, I brushed up on the sim and took my eagle 2 out this weekend and almost pulled a loop with it because it doesn't do that like the sim I had to consciously remember to watch the plane and not fly by feel. I talked to my club pres. and he had the same thing happen, though he got too used to the sim and looped on a touch and go.........ouch

G2 Lite downthrust
:D Hi Jeff.........
Actually, I don't have any problem flying the real planes (I ain't very good at it, but that's another bag of worms!). When it comes to flying the simulator, I find that it is much less enjoyable than it could be, due to the wild trim excursions between idle and full throttle. Now that I'm back flying solo after many years of being out of the hobby, I'm not going to be using the sim much. It was a tool to get my head coordinated with my thumbs - not as an end in itself. Cheers, OD |
