Cannot Host G2 with linksys router
Running XP Pro on a LAN with a Linksys BSFSR41 Router
I enabled DMZ.... Enabled ports 2302-2400 & 6073. I can join games with no problem. If I try to host, G2 'grabs' my LAN IP address; not the WAN address. There is no way to manually change the IP address (that I know of). I can't find a fix around this other then plugging my PC directly into the DSL modem. Any ideas??? |
Problem Resolved....
FYI -
I was digging in the program files for RealFlight and I found the file named "HostBroadcastPersistent.ini" In it is your broadcast info. The IP address that is in the file is actually my WAN IP address (public). So even though Realflight shows my LAN IP address, my WAN address is actually published to the multiplayer server and people can join my session. I tried it and it worked. If your LAN IP address is listed in this file, manually change it to your public IP address using notepad and you should be OK. |
