A question for glow fuel mixers
I'm considering mixing my own glow fuel, I've done it in the past on a limited basis.
What grade of Methanol do you use? I have priced different grades, "Technical Grade" is too expensive and would be more costly than commercial RC fuels, I also found 99.85% pure Methanol for what I consider quite reasonable, I think is about the same grade they race cars with.
Thanks much

I get fuel grade methanol from a local oil company for around $2.50-$2.75/gallon. This is pure methanol (as close to pure as you can reasonably - given its ability to absorb moisture from the air). There are other grades of methanol racing fuel but these fuels often have other chemicals added.
Klotz synthetic can be gotten through SIG for around $40/gal - cheapest I've found it. My last castor oil order came from S&W fuels (splube.com) for $25/gal (again, cheapest I found) and nitromethane from Torco through Amazon for $52/gal and free shipping.
