Alcohol should work.

glow fuel will clean it. put a little in your tank, seal off your lines, and shake vigorously. i used this method many times. if not glow fuel, use alcohol, but its the same thing.

Hi,

I just purchased a Sig Kadet Jr. at a swap meet and the bottom half of the tank was green and gummy from old fuel.

What I did was spray some WD-40 into the tank, sealed the opening and let it sit overnight. In the morning, I swished the the WD-40 around and poured it out. The tank came up like new.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,

I had one that had completely dried residue in it. I tried evrything to dissolve it with no luck. I finally poured a 100 or so BB's in it and rattled them around while watching TV. Makes a heckuva racket but it eventualy broke the residue up. A couple of rinses with fuel and it is as good as new.

You are absolutly correct. The only differance was the cleaning agent. I used brake cleaner and shook the bb's for a few minutes a whala--sparkling clean. I have approx 50 tanks that I have acquired over the years that were in real bad shap. Now they are coming clean like new. Thanks a bunch. Ron (T28RON).
