Default High nitro percent to low

Hey all,

Just wondering if you can go from an engine that was being used with a 30% blend down to a 20% blend. I am looking at a used engine and the owner used 30%, but I have lots of 20% here and that's all I've used.

What would be the side effects and would it cause pre-mature failure of the engine?

Thanks for any insight.

Default RE: High nitro percent to low

There aren't any side effects, you can change nitro content up or down as often as you like so long as you retune each time. More nitro means the needle must be richened (opened) and less nitro means it needs to be leaned (closed). The engine may last fractionally longer on the lower nitro because it isn't being stressed quite so much but you'd never notice the difference.
