Default Hazmat Fees

Is FAI fuel (no nitro) considered a hazardous material for shipping purposes by whatever agency determines such things? Seems to me that there is a lot of alcohol being shipped around the country without being called a hazardous material.

Yes, if it is shipped in gallons and by UPS, FED EX, and a host of other delivery companies, it is considered a Hazmat. It is still a Class 3 Flammable. If it is shipped in quarts by the methods above, it is considered "ORM-D Consumer Commodity" and no hazmat fee is charged.

Truck freight "comercial carrier" for larger shipments is a whole different matter and generally little if any hazmat handling charge is required.
