Where to Buy 4-Stroke Fuel in Orange County CA
 

Does anyone know where I can buy 4-stroke fuel in S. Orange County, CA.?

I have been away from flying for a while.

Before I attempt to fly my giant scale planes, I thought I'd put some time in on a small plane (I have a Magic with a .46 4-stroke).

However, when I went to my local Hobby People to buy a gallon of fuel, I found them out of business.

Nearby in Lake Forest, Gyro Hobbies also closed down.

I've had good luck with the TORCO brand fuel. They sell on Amazon with most of the fuel being shipped at no extra charge. I've used the 20/20 blend as well as the 50% with 20 % oil. I believe they are located out of Arizona. Good luck, Tony L

How do you get fuel shipped at no extra charge? It's usually got a hazardous material charge that is very heavy.

There used to be a dragstrip in the Santa Ana/Tustin area. They could tell you where to buy fuel and a lot cheaper than Tower.

Buying fuel has become a problem for me too. The closest hobby shop that stocks fuel is over an hour drive, and their prices are high. I started blending my own fuel a few years ago. I buy nitro methane and oil online. The nitro is expensive - $50 per gallon, but a gallon lasts me about 3 years. I get methanol from a local fuel oil distributor for $4 per gallon. My total cost is about $13 per gallon for 10%.nitro 18% oil.

S&W sells nitro methane by the gallon, also synthetic and castor oils by the gallon. Torco sells nitromethane by the gallon on eBay. Torco's shipping is built into the cost,

I was at first skeptical that I was being sold 100% nitro methane, but the weight (specific gravity) is correct and it runs in my engines like it should.
