Normal nitromethane is pale yellow in color. If nitromethane becomes blue in color it may be contaminated, and be dangerous to handle. Do not use blue nitromethane. Immediately dilute blue nitromethane with twice it's volume of methanol alcohol and consult Klotz S.F.P., Inc. for methods of disposal.AVAILABILITY: KL-661 gallon; 30 & 55 gallon drum Klotz Special Formula Products, Inc. * 7424 Freedom Way * Fort Wayne, IN 46818219-490-0489 * 800-242-0489 * 219-490-0490 fax * www.klotzlube.com * [email protected]®LUBRICANTS |

Light will break down the nitro in the fuel. I always store my fuel in the cardboard box it came in.

Water & oil in fuel??
Hi Gang,
I know from working with different refrigeration oils some will grab moisture right out of the air. I was just thinking if any one had info on how hydroscopic the oil in R/C fules are  |
Nitro-- How do I kno when it's old??
Oil is not hygroscopic, methanol is very hygroscopic. Nitro is somewhere in between. Concentrate on keeping methanol and mixed fuel dry.

Originally posted by Ross Kean Oil is not hygroscopic, methanol is very hygroscopic. Nitro is somewhere in between. Concentrate on keeping methanol and mixed fuel dry. Ross I had a feeling that it may be and I see a lot of R/C car racers just leaving the cap off the jug. Not a good thing to do especially on a humid day. Thanks for the info Have a great week :) |
