Heli Fuel
What is so special that heli's have their own fuel? Isn't it a 5-30% nitro 20% oil mix? Could I run 15% nitro 20% oil in my Rappy? It would be nice so I would have to take 3 different jugs to the field for a day of flying.

I don't own a heli but from what I've seen Heli fuel often has higher oil contents. I think heli flyers often like pure synthetic oil and some heli mixes advertise that they have different viscosities than aero fuel. Heli engines are harder to cool than aero engines because of their placement and propwash effects. Therefore they are often more concerned with oil type and content. Of course I might be totally wrong so you'll definately want some expert advice, but I thought I'd offer mine anyway.
That being said, lots of airplane flyers use heli mixes in their planes. Especially those of us that fly 4 stroke engines. I'm not too sure that the reverse is true though. I don't really hear of Heli flyers using plane aero fuel. I'm sure you'll get better info on this from others. |

YES! It will be fine. |

Thanks for the replys. I was actually just looking at the wildcat website and my 4 stroke blend actually has more oil in it than the heli blend. And it is all synthetic oil too. Glad to hear that...
