Nitro Fuel killed my grass
Broke in a new engine a couple weeks ago, on the grass in the back yard. Now the place where the grass got exhaust all over it is brown and dead. How effective is RC fuel at killing grass - pretty darn good. Now the question is, is the soil dead too? Does it act like permanent weed and grass killer or will it grow back in a couple of weeks? Anybody know? Should I just till up the soil and re-seed or remove the soil. Dont know if it breaks down on it's own or if I'll have to take more drastic measures to get the grass to grow back.
Thanks Shaggy |
RE: Nitro Fuel killed my grass
The grass will grow back greener than ever due to the nitro in the fuel

RE: Nitro Fuel killed my grass
It seems that it only kills grass or other desired plants. The test stand at our field is knee high in weeds. figures

RE: Nitro Fuel killed my grass
Ok thanks guys. I'll just wait for it to grow back on its own.

RE: Nitro Fuel killed my grass
lol that happened to me too....im pretty sure the nitro is all burned up unless its slobberingly rich, what may kill the grass is the oily residue that clogs the "pores" in the grass and doesnt allow it to "breathe"

I also think the oil probably is the killer. Watering the grass, or a couple of rainy days, will help wash it away.

dilute some dish washing soap and spay area. Repeat the following week. The soap is good for the grass and breaks down oils.

It happens with FAI fuel too....
I think is the hot oil expelled what kills the grass! |
