VX PERFORMACE PRODUCTS??
I saw an ad on E-BAY the other day for a 2-speed sold by VX PERFORMANCE PRODUCTS. What makes this product unsual is it appears to be a clutch design 2 -speed instead of a pawl design 2-speed. The BSW & the BRCP are both pawl design 2-speeds. My question is does anybody have one and what kind of performance are you getting out of it?? Here is a picture of the product if you look closely you will notice what appears to be metal clutch shoes inside of the 2nd gear housing.

from what I know, this 2 speed was made by KM, not VX performance, either way it's still a china made product.
It is a cross between the BSW and BRCP 2 speed and yes this is also a pawl style 2 speed, it's just another copied product with compromised material quality .

yup and 80% of that is junk, thats why it takes and american manufactured upgrade to replace it.
Unless you buy another piece of junk from the same company to upgrade there original crap.

the other knock off 2 speed lasted 35 minutes on my buddies hpi baja, the direct knock off of BSW's design, it just fell apart..lol I told him, ya get what you pay for, spend a bit more and get a quality built part from a reputable company that originally designed it and supports it..
No offense to anyone specific, but it seems the newer guys in large scale seem to flock to these china based companies re-making someone else made parts and selling them for half the price or the original,, you guys just don't learn do you..lol your gonna end up spending 3 times as much or just pulling it off your car in the long run.

Johnny nobody is arguing with that, we are all looking for the same thing, a good deal and well made product.
BUT the price don't always determine if your getting a good deal, the quality is....So you may spend less buying this product from them, but the question is, are you gonna be lucky enough to have it last, because odds are against it from what I have seen and heard.
the problem with the BSW 2 speed had nothing to do with updating the design or changing something on the next batch, the only problem was a poor choice on a manufactured one way bearing (made in china) lol , All they needed to do and what they did was replace them on the 2nd batch with a GERMAN made bearing.....Problem solved...
I have learned one thing, spend a bit more one time, then spend less multiple times (spending more then you would have originally)
there's no cheap way out in large scale, you pay for what you get.

I think this thread was started to discuss the difference in reliability in the two-speeds design, pawl vs. clutch, not whether where it was made. Let's stay on topic...

SpeedyPete, you got clone fever!! The topic of this thread is not if this product is a clone but what design 2 speed it is , is it pawl design or clutchshoe design 2-speed you can't tell by the photo.

Why are you not ranting and raving about the BSW being a clone?? The BSW is a clone of the pawl design 2 speed to an extent, just modified, improved. Technology is going to be used and copied to some degree if you don't want this to happen you better have it patented.

The only way a American company can compete against a copy cat business is with GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE which BSW has they have nothing to worry about because these fly by night copycat business don't provide that. The way BSW treats its customers leads to repeat business.

Thanks BBuzzard. My hope is BSW sells so many of these 2-speed trannys that the production cost go down and they can sell them cheaper than they are now. That move should kill most of the clone business of their 2-speed.
