The horsepower war is still brewing!! I heard that OBR is working on a new single cylinder , piston port engine capable of producing more than 7 hp . He won't say what size this prototype engine is except that it is bigger than a 23cc. So this could be a 26-30cc size engine. I hope it goes into production.
Its bigger than 30.5ccs, that I would be willing to bet on. Id say its their billet 35cc engine.

carlo from cc racing has been making engines with this power range for some time. 26cc if im not mistaken.

Carlo's engines dont make 7hp...but yet, they seem to outrun just about everything else in the same size category that claim to. 109+mph in a rc boat with 25.4cc, running on gasoline.

As far as OBR producing a 7+hp piston port...its really not that hard if they get away from using Zenoah &CYcylinders. Quickdraw has been producing 7+hp piston port 25.4cc engines for quite some time...and they can do it because they have their own billet cylinders and own cases, which utilizes a different bolt pattern allowing for bigger and better transfer ports.

www.quickdrawengines.com they only build marine engines though.

I had one that was a monster, that was modified by Carlo (i only run CCengines). Constantly turned 20,000+rpm under load.

Apparently the OBR mystery motor is a 30.5 cc long stroke with a port job done to it so it is cranking out 7hp.

carlo used to print dyno graphs on his motors- but since everyone went butthead about dyno's, they dont get posted. youre right about quickdraw, the design of zenoah heads is whats limiting power... with a little searching, one could find a suitable replacement to make more power. they are available.

as far as carlos engines not making 7hp, if they dont, hes real close, and probably has the fastest piston port zen motor out. you guys wanna talk about OBR i should post up some pics of their CNC work-

Yes there are bolt on cylinders available that have the ability to make more power then a zenoah cylinder ever will, like the J&GHemi topends, M&DCast 254... but these are still limited because of the bolt spacing limiting transfer size/shape.

And yeah, Carlo has the fastest piston port zen @ just over 109mph in a boat (and thats through 330ft timers...on gps/radar, probably 111-112 or so. Alot goes into his engines that most dont know about. Im lucky enough to have Carlo as a very good friend, and ive spent a couple weeks in his shop and know exactly whats done with his engines, thats why all of my boats have CCRacing Zenoahs in them. As a matter of fact, theres quite a few marine and rc engines that have left the CCRacing shop, that i had a hand in assembling

Most definetely. There are only a handfull of guys that have broke into the 100mph club with a gas boat, and 4 of them were CCpowered.

not sure where you get that... Carlo has been doing engines for the buggies/cars for quite a while now. He also has one of the quickest (if not the quickest) Drag Baja's in 132ft in the country.

I heard a unconfirmed rumor that their might be a inline 124cc twin going into production. NOW I think thats too much!! The 50cc inline twins are too much for the current Baja chassis. A inline twin 124cc would be completly uncontrolable.

While I admire what OBR, Dopile, ESP, CC Racing, Quickdraw and all the engine builders can do with a gasoline engine. I will gladly put one of these up against any motor mentioned in this thread, especially factoring in price/prerformance

Just sayin!

Oh and Thanks AQwut for the pic!
