There is a horsepower war a brewing between some manufactors!! Skopod 62cc torque monster!! OBR 50cc 10 hp Inline Twin!!! And new kid on the block the BZM 23cc 6hp + micro motor!!!! The BZM is the first purpose built motor that I have heard of made specfically for 1/5 scale cars. The BZM is a Italian made motor with some unique features , like reed induction and o-rings instead of gaskets on the motor!! Here is a video of the mighty mouse motor from BZM http://www.bzm-micro.com/images/dyno.flv ( note you have to download this video ) I wonder which manufactor will win the horsepower war with the best preforming most durable motor?? Which motor do you think will become king of the mill the 62cc skopod, OBR 50cc Twin or new kid on the block the BZM??

Nice!!! So this is TGNs big announcement?
I wonder how much it will cost. The sound of that engine revving up was incredible.

twin power i think will be the most reliable big HP...tuning a small single to the bejesus is going to put a dent in either reliability or longevity. Going back to my 2 stroke road bike days a 250 twin was way better than a 250 single, more power, torque, revs and reliability. big benefit though with the BZM is it's a bolt in for all our current rc's.

Be ready to dish out some serious change, the best estimates are around $800 for the 23cc in longblock form. Thats way outta my price range thats for sure.

now you're talking...something like 45cc....4 strokes would open a new avenue of tuning...big valves, cams, superchargers, nitrous.... I've been looking at the honda gx35, the aero guys have been running them but unless you add neat nitro to the fuel and run a glow plug they're reputed to be pretty gutless.
As soon as the epa BS kicks in (it was 2013 but think that's changed now) which is banning all 2 strokes then we'll see alot more 4 stroke small motors come on to the market.
I'd really like to see a v twin or a big bang 4 cylinder about 60cc[8D]
and 800 bones for a 23cc....[X(] that's pretty steep

BZM, CC racing and TS welcome 3rd party dyno testing or introduce a new motor with a dyno video.
I think rumors are started with exaggerated figures and some companies won't/don't dispute these high figures by showing actual results so they can sell more product.
99% of these engine builders have in house dyno services or direct access to one. I know if i built a new motor I would want the world to know how it performed by showing dyno data just as BZM as done with this new introduction.
How do you have a HP shootout with a bunch of inflated rumors??

I think it's funny when some off these companies make hp/torque claims and never publish dyno test results while others like

I offered to test some of the new 60's, nobody was interested. I offered to pay shipping and test for free with no takers.
To me that means a rumored 10hp motor probably makes 6+hp. I don't know about anyone else but I'm not spending $1-2000 on a motor with "I heard it makes 10hp" or "if one motor makes 5hp then two stuck together will make 10hp."

i would never buy that 23cc 6hp crap , im achieving the same result and proberly higher with my current modded engine at 30.5cc power , to be honest that 23cc doenst sound that good anyway , and yeah sure that 23cc might have 6hp or 10hp but its all revving power , i like the torque and power of a 30.5 cc Trevor simpson induction modded engine . i see 4stroke as the new way to go , and dont see the point of wasting or upgrading to a 2stoke 4 bolt setup at this point , ill just stick with my 2 bolt for now hoping that sometime in future 4strokes will be available soon

I have a CC pro mod 2 bolt and a TS 2 bolt that both make 7 hp. I've never blown a base gasket on any two bolt.

As usually the true proof will be how well these engines do in racing competition. But from the videos I have seen of the OBR inline twin I suspect from its performance in the sand it is putting out 10hp. And until there is a industry standard set for designing a dyno, measuring the horsepower of our motors there will always be a debate over the figures which will be settled on the products performance on the track. Why don't you show some videos of your motors on the dyno?? I would like to see them.
