Default I just had this idea...

Anyone ever thought of converting a Power Wheels kid's toy into an RC? I have an old one (like below) that still works fine, I just have no use for it otherwise. So, I was thinking: 1. batteries: dual 4s 5000mah 40c packs in parallel, 2. monster servo somehow for steering (may have to do duals), 3. torquey 1/10 scale servo for throttle (just has to press pedal down), 4. use the stock motor which has plenty of power left in it. stock this thing runs on just 12v, so on 14.8 it should fly pretty good, plus it will be much lighter with no kid driving. Just wondering, anyone ever done anything like this? Would it be worth it to invest probably $250 into it?

Well that's helpful, Bentley

Of course it would!

I've seen quite a few builds like this on YouTube but most of them have a 2-stroke motor in them.
Keeping the original motor could be easy enough though.

But I'd consider changing the plastic wheels to rubber ones for better grip.

Here's one that might give you some ideas > [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_9759374/anchors_9759374/mpage_1/key_/anchor/tm.htm#9759374]CLICK[/link]
