Carb issues
I have a 29CC MCD monster truck. Im trying to set the carb to run better. I set it to idle good..When its at 1/4 to 1/2 speed it runs great... on take off it bogs bad. So I try to turn the "L" needle clockwise (leaner I think) but the idle gets so high that the cluch starts to pick up. Even when I find the sweetspot right before the clutch picks up, it still bogs down...am I missing something? I do realize that the "H" needle affects the "L", but am unsure just how much it affects it. I tried to set the needles back to factory settings and it wouldnt even start. I eventually got it to start, but it bogs in the low end.

RE: Carb issues
I bet your idle is screwed in too much reset that to factory , then the L needle is used as your launch take off so set that in just enough till you hear the revs pick up but not too much if you hear the revs pick up too much turn it back a bit till the revs settle back down but still maintain a healthy rev note , then the other screw which is to the left think its called the hi needle use that at half way then do some speed runs to see how fast its going , if it bogs you have it screwed in too much and you will get a slow speed and rich on the plug so keep adjusting intill you get a nice top speed from take off to high speed without boggin it then you will know your done

RE: Carb issues
I thought that the Idle screw was in to far as well,so I backed it out so far it almsot fell right out, wasnt touching the "lever" at all, and still the "L" needle in clockwise to far makes the clutch pick up., and it seems to be to high to idle at that RPM. I havent even started to play with the "H" screw, as at mid to high speed it runs great. I wonder if maybe I mixed the fuel alittle on the rich side.

RE: Carb issues
yeah the lo needle if in too much will increase the revs so much that it will engage the clutch you need to screw that out enough so the engine revs normal then screw the idle back in to pick up idle revs
