I'm really glad they entered at the high end though, we have enough mediocre 1/5 scale stuff floating around. The videos look good, reminds me of the old MCD Baja 1000 a bit in terms of handling. I'd like to see a kit version though. Anyone know who actually makes that engine?

Still, first thing I'd do is drop a 30.5cc race ported 4 bolt in there. Provided some good pipes come out, which I'm sure will. Losi might make their own and DDM will probably make a dominator for it. Good alternative to MCD vehicles, and it definite has a nice body.
They mention it can use other 1/5 tires, hopefully that means baja tires (probably does since they're beadlocks). I don't particularly like that tread, that thing needs some Dune Reapers.

Hmm that's a good question, it's not listed on Losi's site.

On one of the videos they said something about weight but did not give an exact weight. I would like to know what the weight is ready to run with out gas.

Yeah me too. Though from the videos it seems to manage it's weight well. I have a competition 4x4 FG MT that weighs an absurd amount but it's built to handle it. Based on pictured I doubt it's too heavy, and it looks well distributed, perfect for a 4x4. Gas bajas are much heavier in the rear so the benefit of 4wd is questionable.

RE: Official Losi 26cc 5IVE-T Thread
About time! Although I really dislike the short course trucks, I'm sure the aftermarket will have different style bodies (or body sections. A+ Losi) available within a few months that won't rub when using baja b or t sized tires and/or kits to make it an mt or buggy. Don't think they or aftermarket companies they're close to didn't already have optional parts in mind when they decided what design to release. The aftermarket for bajas is too huge for them not to have.
I'd like to see more disassembly pics, especially of the drivetrain. Mainly the diffs and what it takes to service them. I absolutely HATE doing a baja diff. I'm diggin what part of the brake set up I can see and the clutch.
I WILL buy one after the first or second production runs are out and the kinks get found. If I hadn't just bought another baja a few weeks ago I'd go ahead and be a first run guinea pig.
A+ to Hostile too for using smugmug as their hosting site. They are by far the best.

Kent from Killer RC on another forum said he knows a guy that had some dealings with the new Losi and was told it weighed 37 pounds. So to see what Losi says I sent them an email asking what it weights.

Actually guys, according to what I have been reading, HPI is gearing up for unveiling their new Baja 4WD as we speak.
Googled the losi a while ago to see whats new, and found a thread from RC car action magazine that made this claim.
Apparently the site is down for the link, but you will see what Im talking about here>

EDIT Sorry guys, apparently everyone on here already knew this, as there is a thread devoted to it already. My bad.
