Ford Escort MK2 1/5

So, here is my new project! First i start off with the body (as usual with my two other cars), and then later i will make a new chassi. I think. It does fits my FG, but i guess the creativity takes me and of course i have to make a new chassi
I will paint it white, this makes a good base for eventually later liverys for this car if i want to as they are very much based on white from the works cars. To compare i put a 1/10 scale Escort on top of it, this is also how this one will look at the end

Wow...Pine wood body! That heavy body helped his traction a bit huh? Get a scratch, sand it and touch it up! He has something to worry about that we don't....Termites!

Oh yes, beleive me, i have seen Headquakes car(s)! I thin it is by far the most realistic i have ever seen, and also coolest. This Escort is also true to the scale, which makes it so nice. If he only could wrap a lexan sheet around it and vacuum form it for us others to enjoy it would be nice

How the hell did I miss this thread?
(Maybe we DO need that separate homebuild forum after all?)
Lars is back in the workshop - WooHoo.

Thanks dudes! Today i finished masking the body, and also on the outside as it don't have a protection film. I covered it in a big, black plastic from some wrapping i found at work
Oh, and i have painted the grille, i did this even if i am going to make one realistic looking that i am going to make on my computer and print out. When i still owned my Escort mk2 1/1 i took a picture of the grille as shown on the 1/10-car in the picture in the first post. Going to use the same sticker as this one, just need a bit of resizing

I got it from Spitfire on the RC-tech forum, he has a thread there about them. Yes, them, he also make a very nice Opel Kadett GT/E-body. I too had an Escort mk2 for about 3 or 4 years ago

Finally got to paint it, looks a little rough here and there where the masking tape was (got some leaks), but i guess i will sort it out. Going to make some window "seals" with some black tape around the windows to make it look less "sterile" than it does at the moment. I have also started mounting the rear bumper as you can see.

I have a grinder setup similar to what DVP uses lying around in my workshop, and a weedwhacker-engine that i am planning to use. A really asthmatic engine that i am going to try to tune maybe, hehe! It is barely used, maybe just for an hour.

Have made some "window seals" with trim lines to make it look a bit more real and not so "nude", i think it came out nice. The spoiler is also ready to mount, i have made the holes for it. I will go for the British Airways-livery, it seems very easy to make and also looks very nice in red and blue.

Who? Oh, you mean the God
Yeah, this is my favourite, but i see a lot of work in making those decals. But i know that Spitfire (who makes these bodies) have made and painted it for a customer in the Rothmans livery. So i go for Bjorn WaldegÄrd's car instead:

Yes, I agree making those decals for the stripes would be tough (over the arch...
) but paint not so hard....maybe next time?
